Grey Race was an OK album, No Substance had exactly that: none of the songs were terrible (cough Into the Unknown), but none of em were memorable in any respect. The fact that BR still plays a few of these songs today like Come Join Us and Them and Us, and nothing (that I've heard) from Into the Unknown or No Substance just says it all really.
i thought it is one of their best albums! It just depends on what you are in to. Heaps of great songs on there! 'Them and Us', "Parallel", "Punk Rock Song", "Cease" etc etc
Bad Religion and Offspring are my two favorite bands and I am 42 years old - just goes to show how both bands have lived the test of time - with all they have in common such as both lead singers having doctorate degrees just goes to show that brainiacs can also make good music.
dude offspring usta be rlly good now thr just kind of thr i dont rlly like em like thr tallented and all but like u know but bad religion are one of the best fucking bands evr like oh my satan thr awsum
actually the themes and the lyrics of the new offspring are still the same aas they always were there music has just altered a bit just like bad religion, slightly different (modern) sound but everything is basically the same
One thing I haven't noticed in any of these comments is anyone pointing out how hostile the band appears to be doing this interview. The hatred of the continuing Epitaph questions and their apparent distaste for the Offspring for making it big on THEIR own label.
oui bin j'ais remarqué que c'était lors de la sortie de "The gray race" aprés avoir mis la video.. :D j'ais confondu Jay avec Brooks sur l'image figée..

i don't think there anything wrong with the grey race. it's wasn't a groundbreaking record by any means, but it's in no way bad.

I thought Gray Race was sorta meh. Not the best album in my opinion.

I love it. Graffin seems to have a different approach to melodies than Gurewitz.
Then again I love Gurewitz's songs aswell..

Gray Race is good but not as good as Stranger Than Fiction

Hit that is like their worst song. You need to listen to the album Ignition to know what real Offspring is all about. Or, of course, Smash.
cpasillas20 3 years ago
my 2nd favorite band behind offspring
noodlesfan06 4 years ago
Same here. But they both are great in their own way. Live on punkers.
