  • oh they are FINE Im am a young buck born 1977

  • wow i think i just had an eargasm,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • I wore the groove out on this album in the 80s. Love love love these sisters.

  • Love this group saw them in concert in London supporting Anita baker. It was a night to remember..thanks for posting this !,

  • I have loved them for years...thanks so much for posting this

  • I always loved the lead singers voice since 1988

  • Original trumps copy...not killin' anyone for recognizing that these girls got it going on!

  • i remember these sisters back in the day/ beautiful voices i heard that one of them pass away. 2vent2011

  • beautiful girls, i love it. a nice, different touch to a wonderful song

  • Listened to this song 8 times, only for TODAY....

  • Well put me in the stupid hat and stand me in the corner, but I didn't know that these gals were still performing!

They look slightly more matronly than the era of The Flight, but sound, well, sensational. Lori is on the button.

  • Nice.....

  • I have all their albums. Truly great voices. I <3 them.

  • The Perri Sisters, I didn't think anyone could pull this rabbit out of the hat. I purchased this album on wax first, then the cd. Damn! Wow! Thanks

  • saw the girls support Anita's tour of UK in 88 and have been a fan since. they have unfortunately missed out on the commercial success that their fantastic voices deserves, esp in this world of limited talent reality tv sucess - these girls have real vocal talent!

  • This version tops Anita's version.

  • i.ve seen this women perform as a group at "the strand" in california years ago, they sang so well they didnt need the board to tweek thier voices!!!!!and occasionally they sing back up for other stars in concerts.......they are wonderful

  • I like both versions. Anita didn't sway very far from their style so they're both very similar to me.

  • i would pay top top dollar to see these wonderful soul sisters perform live, i still have my vinyls of them & i stll play them from time to time when I get drunk and wanna jam! my all time favs are of course its been you, eternal love & the emotions cover I dont wanna lose your love ;-)

  • It doesn't get any better than this just AMAZING

  • Perri's version is the original, but I like both, theirs and Anita's. @ different interpretations of a great, beautiful song... One takes us to church, and the other to the jazz club..

  • These girls were fantastic....They did a version of Pat Methenys' Jaco that was off the hook. Can't find it anywhere........No Place to go was a good song by them as well. Extremely talented

  • I really liked this group. Unfortunately their talent was overlooked by their churchy and wholesome image. Despite being attractive and talented women, the Perry sisters as Perri did not have that sexy mystique. On the other hand, EnVouge had it and ran with it. Thanks for sharing this video!

  • @ProfessorCDG1906 If only people just listened to the songs and performances, there would surely be a greater level of true appreciation, away from the shallow sheen of visual appearance.

  • I love their voices. WOW! They sing so beautiful.

  • I, too, have always preferred Perri's original version of this song over Anita's remake. I have all three CDs by the sisters and they are classic!

  • I had Anita's version saved in my youtube faves last year but see it's now been removed. It was a shortened version, missing the 2nd verse- which was my fave, so I'm kinda glad it was removed as I've now discovered the Perri sisters version. Nice job! Love 4:04 thru 4:13. wooo! Great harmony.

  • I had all their stuff on cassette. this must be the page where the same folks who know how bad David Peaston is can be found!

  • Truthfully I prefer this over Anita Baker's version.

  • @Crazymike1975 youre sooo right this version is great!!! have you heard perri's rendition of I dont wanna lose your love by the emotions? it way better & kicks b angie b's version too out the door! the emotions version is a classic but perri has a kind of gospel soul unlike no other group;)

  • I LOVE this group!! I had to find my old CD.

  • This IS the one how smooth is this song genius!

  • love love them

  • Fantastic....Love them!

  • It ain't no contest. I love Anita, & the Perri sisters even sung backup on some of her classic songs. But it is not possible for a single voice to compete with these deep, soulful harmonies.

  • I had forgotten about the Perri sisters' version but well aware of their talent through Anita Baker's music. They song background for her and without them so many of Anita's would not be as special. The blending of Anita's voice with the Perri sisters made each song special along with the amazing musical talents of each musician on Anita's album.

  • This is the JAM right here! I wish they would come back and show some of these young girls how it's done.

  • No one can top this...pure joy fills me when I hear the Perri Sisters.

  • THIS IS MY SONG,I luv this cut so much. Probably, cause I experienced a situtation as the one Perri sings about in this song! Please, let me them do another CD or tour something. That fine, Everette Harp, plays that sax on this song!

  • Hey Coco....you tell your cousins to come out with another CD, Chicago loves em. They are my favorite.

  • Perri's version is better!

  • I think Anita even said she was inspired to record this simply because they were awesome on this cut!!

  • u crazyyyyyy, anita is everything

  • I have to give Perri their props, good job. I still love my girl Anita's version better, but good job.

  • I love this version but i prefer Anita

  • I was so pissed when they stopped playing the perri sisters and played anita's version....I love them and always have...

  • well coco / ya cousins voices go hard baby ...tell them to keep up the work1

  • thank you guys for posting this. these are my cousins and they are doing big things. lori has her own cd released and they are still around doing back up for big names.

  • They are my cousin's too.

It is such a small world.

  • @cococharmelle

I know this is way late, but those girls soar vocally. I've been a fan since The Flight came out, and it's good to see them up on Youtube getting well-deserved exposure.

  • I recently bought a CD with some of Anita Baker's greatest hits. When I saw the title "It's Been You" (thinking it would be a different song with the same title), I thought of Perri and how much loved their song of the same title. When I heard Anita sing it, I was even more surprised as it wasn't quite what I expected. It's pretty, but these girls, these awesome sisters sing it amazingly. I don't know if anyone can top the original. Beautiful!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • After all Lori Perri is the writer of this song!

  • This is a better version due to the 4 part harmonies!

  • Thanks for this post , These girls (The Perry Sisters) have never gotten the just dues they deserve . They wrote a few songs for Anita Baker and they are her back up singers when she goes on tour, She showed them a lot of love when she was in Raleigh a few years back

  • Hey bro, i am on your side b/c I DO 2! This is the original version. Anita's 1994 version is a remake. I mean, this original is so awesome, but it is underrated, and i say that b/c it deserved to be in the R&B top 5 when it was released in 1990-91.
