  • Having grown up, lived, worked in/around Yosemite all my life it's safe to say you guys were lucky. One can never be over prepared, if your going for the day- pack for two, if it's hot pack cold weather stuff....etc etc And as you guys now know check the weather at the rangers station before stepping foot on a trail. Glad you all got home alive.

  • ha ha, nice you could make an enjoyable video from an almost bad experience. I admire your restraint in not breaking into the restaurant :)

  • @becksdollface Love your videos... ... BTW we were literally minutes away from breaking a window when the rangers showed up. We really had no idea if they were coming and it was certainly not an option at that point to hike back down considering it would be dark and the trail would be criss-crossed with flash flooding. Never thought I would be caught in a situation like that, and glad we got out with no damage to us or the building.

  • weekend warriors; unprepared; risking fate with the weather; yosemite has killed many people. You are lucky.

  • You all ever hear of the Donnor Party in the Sierra's? THEY had to resort to cannibalisim to survive. They didn't heed warnings from past travelers either. o.O

You're much nicer tho they had their rescuers for dinner.

  • Great Video. You got a few giggles out of me. :) I for one, wouldn't go hiking there in bad weather. I Love Yosemite. but I don't want to make the Fatal mistake of hiking when it's not safe. You wouldn't catch me there, unless the weather is Perfect. like it was when I was there on July 29th & 30th. :) Now those two days were Perfect for Hiking Vernal Falls, as My BFF & I did. :) I'm glad you guys made it out alive...and your able to Hike Another Day! :) :D

  • Wow! I prob. would have broken into the restaurant. Thanks for sharing.

  • I am more impress on the editing of the video! well done!!

  • Having done stupid before myself, I can say that this is a reminder that Yosemite is wilderness and Mother Nature is the arbiter of stupid. Apparently she was in a good mood. We are fighting back, though. Cell service now at the top of the waterfalls, etc., so people can call for help when, like yesterday, 3 people fell over Vernal Falls after they climbed over the rail to get a picture. Excellent video, though. Glad for the happy ending.

  • @nocknock57 Thanks for your comment, and yes, I also saw the news about the three hikers that got swept over Vernal Falls. I've never been remotely tempted to even dip a toe into those waters. There are plenty of signs warning people of imminent danger there, so it will be hard to find too much sympathy for those fellows, but the video might go viral.

  • Fabulous!!! I absolutely love this film! What a blessing to be alive and well; and able to pass on such beautiful scenery, and music! It was a great way to advise and warn people of the hazards of hiking during inclement weather. I have never been to any of the beautiful national parks and have never attempted such a hike. I look forward to watching more of your videos!!

  • It's okay McDaidUSA....we all make mistakes & learn from them. Some of the people who comment are just plain mean. I'm blessed to be able to see Yosemite from my home & go up every weekend I can. It's always changing, no 2 weekends are the same. Glad you are safe & hopefully you all have been back up there! Stay safe!

  • @u2fan33 Thanks for your nice comment !! We need to get back and try it again, this time when the weather is cooperating!

  • Towalame ?????? Obviously you're Yosemite virgins

  • @granitepeaks1 Actually not, check 1:31. We just never hiked over by Tuolumne and I neglected to spell check it to my great dismay. You are at least the second viewer to point out my mistake. Please rub it in......

  • Glacier Point:Closed......FAIL!!

  • Im from yosemite. I miss it everyday. Goin back tomorrow to see the fam!! So excited

  • @TheShaggySurfer Thanks for watching... love your humorous videos

  • Great little film. Looks like you guys actually had fun. I'm sure you had to be there to feel your pain, but what a bummer that the restaurant was closed!!!!! Great advice as well. Thanks!

  • Yeah, You're right. What kind of an IDIOT is this guy?

  • You guys have got to be kidding. The snow was not even a foot ddep, if you would have kept moving you would have been ok and not just another group of geeks that need the rangers help. I run into types like you all the time. Unprepared, unexperienced, blind, and one to blame others for your ignorance. You guys should take a hike around central Park.

  • @rjdphoto Thanks for watching, oh and would you mind just stepping back a little while I take this photo of you with Half Dome in the backgrouuuuuuuuudddddddddd!!

  • @McDaidUSA THIS WAS VERY ENTERTAINING. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE.

  • @sutonchef thank you for watching, it was quite a hike and was fun to try to make a story out of it after the fact and not really planning anything in advance.

  • @rjdphoto They're not geeks. Just a bunch of guys trying to have fun. I can see a lot of inexperienced people trying the same thing and this video is very good advice for those kinds of people. Back off and lighten up. Tooting your own horn is never flattering.

  • TUOLUMNE is the correct spelling.

  • @climber5150 Thanks! I realized my error only after uploading the video ... sorry about that....

  • Yes by chance. I was looking for Yosemite Rangers and saw six dead hikers and looked and saw me. I work at CV FO when you were checking in. People get stranded all the time so I read yours because I didn't remember six dead hikers. I thought it was funny when I saw myself.

  • @zebralov Well, I'm glad you made it into our video ! ;) I bet you are in a lot of other videos as well. How much of the year do you work there?

  • Hey i'm in your video ...glad to see you made it out ok

  • @zebralov Really??? where in the video are you?... did you just stumble onto the video by chance?

  • Never assume anything. if your safety is predicated on someone else being there for you, you are overstepping a reasonable risk.

  • This is a great video...I hope to become a search and rescue team member at Yosemite later in life.

  • @WilliamBro Glad you liked it! Good luck in your career, and the rest of us will thank you for doing such important work.

  • It was wet this hike ;-) But wether is always well if the clotes are fine.If we ever would take a trip to california we will hike there! But, there is a little Problem. Our Caravan does not cross the atlantic!

  • Thank you for watching! And by the way, your videos are spectacular.. such high definition and the first videos i have seen of aquariums.. what an excellent idea...

  • THX a lot! Well now you know my 3 and 4 Hobby ;-).

  • Thanks for the coment on my video. Your documentary is really great, made me laugh a few times.

Seems like you guys still had a good time, Yosemite is a great place no matter what.

  • Wow!!! I'm not much of a hiker, but yes, I've travelled a huge distance for my trips to Yosemite...the video that you saw was my third trip...and by far the best, in the company of Karen Amstutz, who's a ranger there.

Thank you for the comment on my video...and your documentation is awesome, too!
