@irkaygeeaye That's probably because this is the first major "event" in a long time that's happened since she died, not including holidays (they probably already got through the first Thanksgiving and Christmas without her in the timeline BEFORE the show began). They probably didn't want to focus on the fact that the mother was dead (although Floyd DID mention a few times that he was a widower). They did the same thing on Full House.
