Very good harmonizing, I kind of like this song. The lyrics are acceptable as in a dream. I could almost put this into my favorite's cataloque, anyway it dose have it's place on my '59 chart if I want to play it again. Thx4 postin'
I need a Song from this Group Called Sweetpea's in Love! Can anyone Please send this song to my E-mail address riggs2010@comcast.net or tell me how i can get it? My Brother used to Dance on TeenTime and at Lake Marwin, I really need this song guy's please help! John Hedrick.
A doo wop group from Connecticut called teh Castoleers had a great song called "I Cried." Is this the same group? If so, do you have the song and can you post it?
I know Jimmy Beaumont personaly so I know this group is not the Skyliners. THis is the Castoleers who recorded a song called "I Cried." I Cried is a better song than even this good one. Harvey Holliday plays I Cried regularly on his Philadelphia based Doo wop radio program on Sunday nights.
Thanx for the support. I've had this discussion a few times. Definitely fr Providence, as I am. Knew Joe hill well, when he sang lead on "That's Why I Cry". I go to Prov every year and still see one of the original group members, Dell Padgett.
no problem they are one of my favs and these cats deserve recognition for theirtremendous effort and contribution to R&R and R&B. btw does Mr.Padgett have an acct. w/ Youtube, anyway for him to see how ppl really appreciate him and his group?
I was born & raised in Prov. Went to school w/the oldest Tavares brothers, & know the Osborne family well. In fact, I've been passing email with Billy Osborne. He's one hell of an all-around musical talent.
Dell Padgett, to my knowledge, does not have a YouTube account, but he & my brother-in-law hang out together. He has mentioned about singing again. I know he'd appreciate the comments. The group got screwed w/royalties.
furthermore this song is from 1959 the Skyliners had already recorded "since I don't have you" in 59,the Castaleers formed in 1958 and were still singing in1959 and 1960.
that is not jimmy beaumonts voice just listening to the voice one can determine the lead is black. he sounds black. beaumont is white pop. the cats were the real deal.Kool as f--k
Jimmy sang with the Crescents not the Castaleers before the Skyliners. and yet again the Castaleers are black they sing black Jimmy Beaumont does not sing in that style if you want a white group that sings in a black style try the Teardrops 1954 N.Y. or the Contenders from P.A.

These gentlemen were indeed from Providence, RI, recording on Myron Muffs' Planet Records. I believe this was a Planet track leased to Felsted.

Thats not the castaleers picture. Casteleers were white...a year later they were the Skyliners.
