I am the Head Coach for both the Men and Women team at a NCAA Division 1 School located in PA. I am currently looking for a 3 star player. We play some of the best teams in the Northeast including Navy, Seton Hall, Bucknell, Villanova, UCONN, and James Madison. We offer a very competitive scholarship for the right student / athlete. I would like to talk to you further about your college plans. Please contact me at slinghopper@aol.com
Your right, it's sometimes better for beginners to get a feel for ball contact, but once you become a 4.0-4.5 rated player, you need the added spin and power of a looping forehand, It's not harder or less consistent, it simply requires earlier preparation.
For Division I colleges (6.0 players) you NEED the most power and spin on your forehand as possible. Give ONE example of a division 1 college player who doesn't put a loop to there forehand and I will plead complete tennis ignorance.
The pros can take huge backswings because they have great timing. If your common day college players take a huge backswing they will probably be late hitting alot of balls. Have you heard of the concept short compact strokes? Ask any reputable coach in your area about the concept of "winding up" more for a stroke. They will tell you it's a bad idea and will tell you to shorten up the backswing and rotate and extend your to your target. You obviously aren't very keen of tennis mechanics.
well you dont want to big or to small of a backswing and also it depends a lot on the ball. if its a fast ball if you have a long backswing youll most likely be late and you dont need a big one because it has so much pace but on a slower one you need a bigger one so you can take a bigger cut at the ball
you play very well obviously, but the video is kinda boring..Coaches dont want to just sit there and watch you swing for 8 minutes. You need match play video, both winning points and losing..I dont think you missed 1 ball on the video, lol..I hope you get the call and get to play college..Good Luck!!
I think it looks good. Just on the forehand, there is no takeback. If you added a small takeback, I think you could get a little more on your. Ball. Go college, don't listen to rebisdead!
Fuck u rebisdea. She actually can play a fucking sport. I bet ur on ur fucking pc 24/7 eating fucking Take - Away. So don't fucking disrespect people who actually give it a fucking try.( Well done Lauren! Keep going!)
STFU! Maybe people don want to be pro. Maybe they want a scolorship! God. I Don't think you can do better. If you don't have anything nice to say about people's vids, DON"T TALK ASSHOLE!!

try to wind up more for your forehands instead of just finding the ball
smithcm14 2 years ago
Wrong, the shorter the backswing, the better. The bigger the backswing the more can go wrong and will lead to inconsistency.

You obviously aren't familiar with professional tennis

17 and not pro? Forget college - in women's tennis you've got to be playing pro at 15/16 if you're any good.
