In the old Samurai, you had to manually readjust the hubs for 4x4 - the 4x4 setting on the gearbox did not work otherwise!

If suzuki and niva was equipped with the same tyres and if the same driver would drive it, i think results would be quite similar. Well niva might be slightly better, but some lift and lockable rear or both diffs would quickly change that. Niva isn't bad car, but like all Russian cars it's not reliable.

In this video suzuki had pretty bald tyres and driver didn't know what he's doing.

Those were absolutely the wrong tires on the Suzuki to be doing what he was trying to do. All that Samurai needs is the right tires for the situation and a lift kit would make it practially un-stoppable!

Doesn't have one. Standard diff locks are only on the centre diff - unless we're talking about pinzgauer or mercedes g/unimog - and the suzi doesn't have a centre diff due to being part-time 4x4.

The niva is full-time 4x4, and has a centre lock, which doesn't appear to be being used...

no its not u dickhead, how come a landy is perminant 4x4 and you can still put that in centre difflock, anyway a difflock locks the ammout of power coming out of eachside of the diff so the power on bothsides is the same. an opem diff lets power go to bithsides of the diff but more will always go the side which has less resistance, also i thought that the niva had lockers in the axels aswell as a centre one.
