  • Too bad video is not in sync with sound...

  • I would love to have the sheetmusic to this as well.

  • I am so grateful to you Coloraturafan. Please upload some more. i am from the philippines and hopefully i can introdfuce the legend of hallstein to others with more videos. Thanks.

  • Beautiful singer, beautiful song. Does anyone know if this singularly talented coloratura still gives masterclasses?

  • who wrote this piece???

  • @jomoses07 der wunderbare Franz Grote

  • @Wolfgang1168 thanks!!

  • Its such a joy to listen to such an angelic voice. She ranks in the same class as Erna Sack and Rita Streich. They are the true masters of their vocal 'instrument'. Best of all they could really bring out the elixir of composers of their songs, with delicate treatment of the dynamics of each song sung.

They should leave their legacy with Master Classes and teaching materials so that aspring singers have a chance to reach such pinnacle of songs.

  • @9988eddie Hi, can you send me the music sheet as well?Grazie...

  • I'm a big fan! Perfect technique and such a pure voice...

  • Ingeborg ist doch DIE Nachtigall!..

    Vielen Dank.

  • Voz maravilhosa, incrivelmente habilidosa e solida tecnicamente.

Mas eu pergunto, prq ela se aposentou tão cedo?

  • Уникален глас.Бравор,браво,броиво!!!!!!!!

  • @nansee1985 Hello! In the last days I did some investigation to find the song for you. The problem is: I have found two small music editors in Germany that sell it, but they only send it to European countriés, not to USA or Canada. Nevertheless, I will go on searching and try to find a possibility for you. Greetings!

  • @nansee1985 This song was composed by German bandleader and composer Franz Grothe. He was unknown outside of Germany, and I think this "song of the nightingale" is one of his best works. Ingeborg Hallstein is singing in German here, I don´t know wether there is a text at all in another language. Also I am not sure wether there is an English article in the net about Franz Grothe. If you want to know something more, don´t hesitate to ask me!

    Greetings from Germany!

  • Wow.

  • I swear she has a syrinx rather than a larynx.

  • Is this a live performance or was it dubbed? Either way it is glorious singing, but if she could sing that easily live I need to just give up singing!

  • @OperaBoy1986

    This is most definitely dubbed.

If you look at some of the shots ( 1:52 ) you can see that there is some video editing going on.

Also if you take a closer look at some of the staccato parts you can see her tongue moving at a different pace.

Still the most beautiful rendition of the song I have ever heard.

  • why is she not as famous as other sopranos in her time? unfair.

  • @firetiger123 Well, she was quite famous in her time...but you must see that was in MY chilhood....some 50 years ago:)) Greetings from Germany!

  • She knocks my socks off. But why is she wearing a nightgown?

  • @rudypea when will you hear a nightingale, what does even the name say?

  • Thank you so much for posting this song. I have loved it for ages.

  • wonderful...!!! I`m her biggest fan since decades! Thanks for sharing this!!

  • I have never heard such high notes so masterfully and delicately executed. She has technique, color, beauty, and ease of voice. I love it!!!

  • ...amazing video coloraturafan, you are a true connoisseur... She is amazing =_ñ...

  • Hallo, VladaSunlight,

  • I had the pleasure to sing Countess Masitza with her

  • How beautiful, and she is absolutely perfect!

  • Das ist wunderbar! Wo kann ich die Noten dieses Liedes finden? Mit Liebe aus Rusland.

  • So beautiful! I love this!

    chris

  • She is so perfect.

  • Perfect. So perfect.

  • thanks so much..i love her..she is the best coloratura soprano...

  • This is one of my favorites that she does and I'm SO completely excited that you have this song not to mention the video with it!! I was wondering, this song used to be on youtube but it was a different version that she performed just as beautifully! Do you happen to have that one as well? I'm so grateful to you for posting such a treasure as this! Many heartfelt thanks:)

  • Ive never seen anything like that before!

  • As perfect as usually.

Many thanks to Madame Hallstein and... to coloraturafan!

    Julien

  • It is astonishing just what, as here, the human voice is capable of and how effortless it seems to her, combined (as meltzerboy says) with true artistry. It is all here...thank you for uploading!

  • Very pretty high notes and staccati. But Hallstein is more than a high-note singer; she has a brilliant overall technique and sings with true artistry. Thanks for sharing.

  • Whoo! Incredible high notes from this lady! Bravo!

  • Genial!! Glasklar in der Höhe und Wärme in der Tiefe :)

thank you so much for uploading this :)
