Can we motivate ourselves when we are not enthusiastic about our work or situation? Should we? How do you rediscover our enthusiasm? Are the two intimately related? When enthused are we not also motivated?
Here in the US there seem to be two major schools of thought: positive and negative reinforcement. I believe both have their advantages, and it really comes down to a cultural perspective most often. However, for negative reinforcement to be successful, the recipient needs to understand that the critique comes from love & support, or it will not work long term.
