This was Roger Griffiths nephew. He walked away thanks to the roll cage triangulation of the area around the driver. The passenger side and pillars were crushed. I have photos of the car. I had breakfast with the family after the crash. It could have been ugly.
Oh its a rush when you flip at 200 the first time for me I almost shit myself, we found out the hard way skinnier tyres and low to the ground saves the day.
My girlfriends Dad used to race here in teh 80's and was making a run in his car at 275 mph and the same thing happened. He was already the current record holder for his class he was in and he was workign at setting it faster
Great video of a blow-over going backwards. Hope no one got hurt. I did the same thing in 1980. Spun the HPBooks Monza when a tire-tread separated at 210 mph. Held full left steering-wheel lock for an instant, then she started spinning. Went around at least three times, but thanks to the Lord, we stayed on all four. No damage except to my underwear and one tire.
That'll chip the paint. ;)

That's incredible. So beautiful to see machines moving that fast.

Looks like the rear tires slide after closing the throttle.
