WHAT DID YOU FIRST DO WHEN YOU GOT THE PLANTS? I BOUGHT 3 POTS THE I SEPARATED THEM INTO SMALL PIECES THEN PLANTED THEM WITH TONGS! BUT AFTER A WEEK THE PLANTS WAS MELTING SO BAD! THERE ARE SOME LEFT BUT MOST OF THEM ARE DYING! I NEED HELP/TIPS ON HOW TO MAXIMIZE THEIR GROWTH! REPLY BACK AS SOON AS YOU CAN THANKS!!!!

HC need a lot of light (1 watt/liter) and CO2. This is very important.

@bayoteugene9 sheesh, someone's pushy. For starters, lay off the caps lock, it just makes you look like a spammer and lets people ignore your comment all that much easier. No one can really answer what's wrong, as no one knows your tank specs. Such as, what substrate are you using? any fertz? dry or wet? do you have a co2 system? what lighting? do you dose excel? what temperature is your water at? Are your fish compatible? is the clean-up crew damaging them? it's really impossible to tell.

Wow, seems a lot of work, to trim the whole bottom ;) I'm surprised that this Hemianthus "holds" so good to the substrate - its roots must go really deep, otherwise it would be uprooted by the scissors... (I think... :) )

@DerangedDrew they will from the stem, one method of doing so is to use 3wpg+ lighting and to bend the stems over and push the top of the plant into the dirt. from what i know any plant that can do so can take root from a cutting. once you have a carpet going though where else are you going to propagate them? i just ordered some HC's a few days ago and if you would like i'll go and try this for you. going to be doing a series of video's on them start to finish because of a lack of documentation.

@DerangedDrew honestly to HC's i am too but i am fairly certain i can get them to grow. just got them today and i'm allowing them to set up right now in my tank... adjust to the water conditions and all that great stuff. i'll probably have a video up later tonight of the whole planting process and i'll chop a few off and stick em in the dirt to see how that works out.
