well despite the critics, this is still an enjoyable performance. thank you for posting it .. I think Mr. Thomas is a bit too harsh, but he must have listened to the Morriston choir version, which is perfect, and he must be Welsh as well, so well he's biased.I'm saying an 8/10 for effort and a 6/10 for execution, 4 is way too low when this is so enjoyable as it is. thank you
This is too fast! It's in 4 and NOT 3! Sotto Voce too - quieter guys! Don't over emphasise rhythms and watch accents - too harsh! It got faster !!!!! Controll it - relax - relax - relax - it's not a race. Tuning good. You sustained the last note to its full value - well done - just a shame it flattened. 7/10 for effort - 4/10 for excecution.
Nice video, but second rate compared to Mousehole MVC who celebrate 100 years this year. Fishermen originally not miners. Congrats to Tredegar MVC who are also 100 in '09.
Happy Birthday to Mousehole MVC, presumably your choir. Where are your YouTube films? Our choir, originally policemen, will be 100 in 2087. Maybe when we've had as much practice as you, we'll match your quality! :-)
That would be the one! I never actually watched the TV show but had a younger brother who'd read the book and kept repeating a phrase containing the name Mrs Bloomsbury Barton which stuck in my mind. I tend to forget my user names but thought I'd manage to remember this one!! Becky Brocklbanks? Do I believe that??
Well the male voice choir tradition was started by coal miners who were all very much men!! They don't traditionally sing from sheets, probably because the first ones couldn't read the words, let alone the music!!
This song is gr8 but is boring 2me i have to sing i in school so this song sucksss but gr8 singing

it was her real name.

i also worked with a Woman called
Sam Hogsbottom
we somtimes called her Smooth Hogsbottom
good choir by the way
we dont have many good mens choirs here. Guys tend to think its a bit gay to be in a singing group.
