how much hp does that car have just traded a mustang lxc 5.0 for a olds it has 409torq and 358 hp to the crank with 280 hyd. cam and keith black pistons flat top 9 to 1 comp have papers on the motor th400 3.73 i can say ride alot better than a ford
@MPruitt30 your pretty much right, 85 86 & 87 didn't even make 5000 of these
many are gone,or driven as rusted shit boxes,or molested I'm sure in storage& collected, but not really many for sale,it cant be a common seller being as limited as it was.
@217zenki Youre right, this body style was built for like 8 years theyre not rare by any means, hell, theyre not even considered a "collector car".... They are fun to play with and cheap to build, thats what makes the price of the clean ones go up!!!! Hell if I can find a clean one, already done up like the one in this video, I would be willing to trade my low mile 1996 Impala SS for it... But it has to be SUPER spotless for me to trade the SS!!!
I got my 79 Cutlass back in 1998 with 28K miles. Its currently at 46K. Got it from an old lady that barely drove it, wasn't even for sale. It just needed a little persistence ^_^
Where i live in Atlantic Canada, I've yet to see a car in general with rims that were even 22's really, seen a caddy or two but hardly.. There would be a million of these cars in Canada in great shape if our winters wern't so hard on vechicles .. we have vehicles less then a few years old already with some pretty heavy rust. Road salt is hard on a car.
you could come semi close .. some v6's sound OKAY, but your never going to match that muscle tone .. id say a set of flowmasters would be your best bet though, american thunders dont sound that bad..
nice sound i have a 1987 cutlass with a 350 small block it sounds awsome when i uncap my headers almost like urs never let that cutty go the are hard to find everyone i met at car shows wants to buy mine
It doesn't matter how many miles these cars have because most of them are 30 years old and they're gonna have 1,000,000 miles on them, so its best to just buy one of the cars and swap the motor and trans for a brand new Chevy crate motor. Just totally rebuild the car when and if you're lucky enough to come across a Cutlass that's not in the junk yard.
not sure what your talking about .. i see lots of them for sale with less then 100,000 km on them .. so 60,000 miles? Not 100% sure .. here in Canada, its not hard to find one in good shape for $8500, however anything less and the canadian salt and winters will have eaten away at them. A lot of the cars around here are brought from southern areas .. my car was actually a Canadian car stored in a garage and only driven as a summer vechicle by an older man, 90,000k on it all original pretty much
I had a pro built ( 1972 delta 455) Mondello package in my 87 442 Gray/gray ,T's, gold/ crome rally's, had no problem with parts or prices what so ever,an absolute torque monster, mid 12's street tires, driving it to track.
slicks and a little tweeking low 12 easy. Sleeper was the fun part..This car in the vid looks nice too short
hey, nice car man!! keep up the good work!!! do you know of any Olds engine websites...they seem harder to come by and i don't want to run a chevy motor like most people do..
Ive been looking for parts too. I need a chrome grille for my 86 but since everything is discontinued... if you find anything let me know too if you dont mind buddy.
i dont know wht that kid is talkin about puttin a small block chevy in his cutlass for go with an old 350 it has a shorter stroke and bigger bore than a chevy 350 if you built a chevy 350 and an olds 350 exactly the same the olds would make more hp and way more torque than a chevy 350 it may be more expensive ta build an olds 350 but its a better design engina and makes more power
i dont know dude, for the money ide rather build a chevy 350 or a 372 if rpm is what your after, dont get me wrong olds 350 kicks ass if you can find the pre 1977 ones for a good deal. plus an engines what you make it unless the block itself is junk like the 307.
It started as a stock 350 block and then basically everything is new besides the crack and rods. E-heads, comp roller cam. 750 holley, roller rockers, you name it

What a sweetie!!
Y'know, the Cutlass is amazing, for a number of reasons, one being: It's a perfect car for a hot rodder or granny. How could that be?
Is that a first in automotive history?
