After years of not having Star Fox, I finally got it again and played it all like old times. When I got to this part...I forgot how much my hand would ache from mashing that damn control...This level is fast-paced as a mofo!!!

i have a question, why is there a cockpit/canopy/first person mode on the 64 version, but no type of one on 3d version..

@RDD756 Really? That's interesting, it was one "feature" in the game I never used cause it was honestly just bad. In third person you just push Z and left if you want to make a tight turn left, in first person you had to press Z, then press down the joystick. The controls were changed like that, and doing barrel rolls was just dizzying.

Plus I bet people would be getting really nauseous if they did that with the 3D on.

@smashmeta18 Yeah I saw. It is pretty neat. But I've never really liked the sound of a synthesized chorus. And it could use a bigger sound with more instruments in each "section" (sort of like the star wars music I used).

At 2:03 when you mentioned about 'Creating a new Star Fox game that doesn't suck', I was curious if you ever played the later ones on the Gamecube or DS. If you do, how do you feel about them?

Adventures was so-so for me. Of course the plot and gameplay was out of place, but at least it had some good music.

Assault would have been cooler if they didn't include those long on-foot missions and included more rail-shooting segments, if you ask me.

Command is the only one I don't like at all.

@EvilMoonwulf Yeah basically, but but on top of what you said about Assault, there were a lot of little things that bothered me too. The Arwing seemed like it was larger and more sluggish, its lasers fired slower, and it obscured your vision with graphical effects. The kill-chain scoring system didn't appeal to me either, and I found the hud to be badly designed. In addition there is a lack of feedback when you take damage compared to this game.

You're right. Online co-op four-player on this game would be awesome. It'd be like Alien Swarm, but on rails. Everyone could take a slightly different rail that nevertheless normally allows you to see (and support) at least one wingman...it could be...beautiful.

When I was playing this level I had the in-game music turned off. I just recorded the desired length of the Area 6 track from the sound test menu and added it into the recording, since the mp3 I had wasn't long enough to cover the entire time of the video.

Actually, you do get the bonus hit points when the Great Fox shoots them down, just not the actual kill. You also can't exploit that charge shot glitch, obviously. :C
