Well, you should really work on the strumming first (try strumming with your index finger) and then start with simple chords and press the strings till your fingers hurt . I think that way you will be able to play the song right.
The singing, well I don't know what to say, shut up until you master the guitar, then try to add the voice, but tune it with the guitar sound.
