To be honest with you all this soloes are fairly easy. The only thing you really have to do is to play them in a slo tempo first (in the case of new level its normal speed is 135 bps, so you should start with 80 bps) then play aproximately 5 minutes the entire solo with that speed, afterwards you should add 5 bps to the tempo (so you have 85 bps). So you have (135-80)*5 minutes to become Dimebag))

I got this DVD it's brilliant however walk and a new level are played in E standard, the original songs are 1 and a quarter step down which was a shame because if you want to learn these you have to either drop D tune you guitar or tune you guitar to D standard then play everything Andy tells you 2 frets higher up the neck. As for quality this video and solo is second to none excluding Dime!! RIP

It's supposed to be a full step down, but he's playing standard, and plays everything 3 frets down.

It's good either way, but I think it's easier on your fingers, and easier over all to play it full-step down.

It rocks - but he's not playing it quite right. I think he's using drop D tuning which means he starts the solo on the 5th fret. That gives him a problem with the open string at the end of the solo. He should use standard tuning but dropped a full tone. He can then start the solo on the 7th fret, and the open top string then gives him the correct note at the end of the solo.

@rancidmonkey74 There's no open string at the end of the solo, he's coming back from a bend on what looks like 10th fret on the B and high e strings. Also, he doesn't even hit the low E during the solo so how would you know if he's in dropped D?

But anyway, if you're playing along to this and you want to match up with the record get a cent meter, tune E standard 1/4 steps down, to A430, then just tune 1 step down to D.

The song is 1 1/4 steps down from standard.
