  • Holy Joker.

  • Lmao. That's a ton of Jokers. Funny how no one dressed up for it.

  • Actually, a few did. I remember seeing a full-on Batman, Robin, and Joker. And they had REALLY good costumes, so when they showed up a lot of us assumed they were part of the event, haha.

  • lol nerds

  • you know what that place needs to make it feel really real...a good napalm explosion right in the middle of that place so everybody burns and all the cars blow up.....and then, nobody panics...cause it's all, part of the plan....

Was that over the top....I can never tell?©™

  • lets pretend a guy just wandered onto this,...and um...what the fuck is this crap

  • That's the kind of reaction we were getting as a couple hundred of us in Joker face paint ran around San Diego. I even passed by a few friends of mine having lunch in an outdoor diner, looking at me going, "Bryan, WTF is this?!"

  • meh

  • ohhhh

    that's soo cool

  • LOL! Army of Jokers.

  • I thought this is a very smart marketing campaign, not to mention it looks fun. Haha I wish I was there though

  • so some guy got beaten to death?

    thats what im getting..

correct me if im wrong.. the description is a little sketchy. sorry

  • Not in real life, but yeah that was the idea, that Gotham mobsters apprehended who they thought was The Joker and beat him to death.

  • I went all this year, but last year I only went one day, and I wish I saw this!

  • uuhhh ouch o.O

  • wat? stupid publicity stunt is stupid

  • Thanks for the insight.

  • why so serious?

  • whats going on?

  • Read the description. That's why it's there.

  • Fanboyism at its best!

  • Wtf, are u high? Shit face mother fucker.

  • rofl

  • batman still rox all of our sox! but the joker is just more..... menacing. and we all like that more that the hero thing batman has going on.

  • i love the joker batman can go to hell!

  • ever thought how the dude picked could of been a actor or something in on it ?

  • That's what I figured. At the time I thought he was one of us fans, randomly selected for some special prize. Later when I found crime scene photos of his dead body on the "Why So Serious" website, I knew he was probably a plant.

  • wow batman would never dream of havin army of joker fans. if it happen hell use robbin to kill them

  • i lol3d

  • Holy Shit an Army of joker fans xD

  • you were there? thats cool, i couldnt really tell what was going on in the car tho

  • Yeah neither could I, but some of the other guys told me they could see him getting thrashed around and hear yelling.

  • Fanboys <_<

  • People are like sheeps :))

  • omg RUN its an ARMY OF JOKERS

  • gosh i wish i could rewind the time and be there. my heart wouldve exploded from the excitement/anticpation/adrenaline

  • Best. Marketing campaign. EVER. XD I totally wish I could have been a part of it. Thanks for uploading this, man. I've been wanting to see what happened. <3

  • Yeah, no problem. :) Out of the 100+ other Jokers out there with me, I saw tons of people with cameras, but I think I might have been the only one who recorded any video.

  • yay a crwod of jokers that would have been interesting to see

  • Haha yeah, people were getting so weirded out when we were running around downtown San Diego en masse.

  • lolI love how randomly when everyone is talking about heath they say RIP its so random that it is funny

  • It's not random, it's showing respect.

Random would be: "The Dark Knight was great, but what really blew me away was an amazing performance by Heath Ledger (I LOVE BACON!)."

  • LOL...yeah, nothing wrong with showing respect.

  • @cheesymaster5 this was in 2007

  • Thats not Heath. Heath was 28 when he died this guys like 40 and bald in the back of his head. And second Heath wouldn't let his body guards push him in the car. AND HE WASN"T FAT!!!

  • because you touch yourself at night

  • the guy in the blue shirt... is that the joker? is heath ledger (RIP) in this video? and why did everyone start clapping?

  • No, Heath Ledger wasn't there; this was just a viral marketing stunt where all the participants were recruited fans. The guy in the blue shirt was supposedly one of us, but common speculation is that he was a plant working for the marketing team. And he wasn't supposed to be the actual Joker, just someone who the mob mistook to be The Joker.

  • YAY JOKER

  • Scary stuff

  • LOL WOW I DIDNIT SEE THAT COMING

  • wow all with there faces painted little to much

  • OMG

    It's a sea of Jokers!

  • Lol

  • hahahaha :)

  • everyone with the makeup on their face, nolifers

  • see you in december?

is that when the movie is coming on DVD?

  • No, this viral marketing event for The Dark Knight took place at Comic-Con LAST summer, and they were referring to December 2007, when we got the first full theatrical trailer and our first look at footage of Heath Ledger's Joker. Also, attached to IMAX prints of I Am Legend was the entire first scene of The Dark Knight.

  • oh, ok

  • what is going on?

  • read the description idiot

  • well i wont blame you, i should have, but i will blame whoever made wrote it... ITS TOO LONG! so no i wont

  • whos in the car

  • Viral marketing people posing as Gotham mobsters trying to take out their rival The Joker.

  • I wish I was that guy.

I wonder if he got a mask too...

  • I'm inclined to think he was a plant working for Warner Bros. all along.

  • where can i see these crime scene photos & a supposed attached article that everyone's talking about,

  • All of the viral marketing campaign websites are viewable now at whysoserious. com now. The Comic-Con page is viewable when you click on the Jokerized dollar bill.

  • how could they even know how the make up was like in august 2007 :S

  • A couple of promo photos of The Joker had gotten out by then. People knew that basically it was black around the eyes and red running up the cheeks.

  • Comic Con is always in July. By the time Comic Con rolled around, pictures of Heath as the Joker had already surfaced. They were leaked like a month early.

  • ok im confused what the hell am i looking at here?

  • I explained as thoroughly as I could in the video description.

  • and i still dont get what this is supposed to be

  • its supposed to be what happened to harvey dent when he got assaualted by the "mob" and was tortured and was smashed into a puddle of acid except this fan was just murdered BLAH BLAH. and when they ment see you in decemeber that when the dark knight trailer came out in december

  • I'm with you. Oh well.

  • I actually picked up one of those "Joker dollars" that they had circulating across the Con.

  • I wish I could've been there. I live about 20 mins away from the Comic-Con was happening.

  • did you have your face painted when you filmed this?

  • Yup! I was one of the Joker goons who got to have my photo up on the "whysoserious" website for a few months.

I added a link to my photos from the event in the video description.

  • that 7 minute trailer isnt on the net any more they had it taking off its impossible to find now

  • Try a youtube search for 'Clownshaha'. The quality is pretty crappy but you can pretty much tell what's going on. Also in the related videoes you can see other videos of the same things. Some have better sound quality than others, while other have clearer video.

  • lol i heard you guys

    "dude whats happening"

"i dont know i guess we get our free shit"

    XD

  • it's said in the text the man who had been "beaten down" had a card in his hand on which stood: see you in december. why december? isn't the movie being released in july or somethin like that?

  • In December was the first time that the Joker from Dark Knight (Heath Ledger, may he rest in peace) was revealed, in a trailer released in the month of December.

Thus, "see you in December". Or more like, we get to see him, finally.

  • ???????????? read the text thing you wrote but still....wtf .... who are the people in the car

  • They're all actors working for Warner Bros.

  • okay cool but why would they want to kill the american fan guy

  • That's the thing, he wasn't really one of us fans; he was a plant. Basically the idea they were going for was that these guys were Gotham mafia, competing for control of the city, and they were taking away who they thought was the Joker. And that Gotham police report we later found described how the Joker was found on the side of the road beaten to death by gangsters... only it wasn't really the Joker.

  • what'd ya get?

  • but why december?

  • It was part of the viral marketing campaign to promote the release of the trailer attached to I Am Legend and the first six minutes of the movie attached to the IMAX version of I Am Legend.

  • Trailer and IMAX 6 minute featurette

  • is that 6 minute thing on line any where?

    I really wanna see it!

  • Google it it's all over the place and it kicks ass

  • whats going on in this video?

  • I tried to explain it as thoroughly as I could in the description.

  • You shouldn't be so modest lol.

  • whos in the car

  • nah, yo. That was the point of the thing, to dress up, man.

  • I found Tony.

    This should be the new Where's Waldo;

    Where's Tony? :-P

  • Easy. Look for the tall guy with sunglasses who keeps saying he's "stoked." ;)

  • Or with 50 different vocalizations of "Dude!"

  • alternate reality game, what happened was there was this big scavenger hunt where people in San Diego and those online communicated through a series of puzzles, the end result was

    the trailer

  • what's an ARG?

  • dude i went there, and i was like "dude, its a ARG they're giving him something." but like we never saw that dude afterwards.

  • I'm sure he was a plant. They had crime scene photos of him dead up on the site by the end of the day.

  • really, crap i should have tooken my laptop.

  • tooken?

  • yes sir. if you may have noticed i can spell. i believe it is took. i think i typed another word and didn't delete half of it, and it turned into an new word, for the past PAST tense of take.

  • taken maybe?

  • maybe

  • FAT JOKER

  • WTF Who the Hell was that:(

  • A plant, I'm sure.

  • WTF are you Talking About:(
