  • Club MTV ftw.

  • this is a dokken song remanufactured for disney digestion. there just singers and dancers

  • Wow, I just noticed that their outfits match with the blue and yellow/gold. I guess I was too busy dancing and singing to notice.

  • I listen to this and the extended remix in my car regurarly. This song gives me life!

  • This awesome. I heard of this group forever, but never knew what song was their hit. But I actually remember this song.

  • OMG This is flashback 90s! I remember this tune from them!!

  • I LOVE THEM! Great stuff! Brings back memories.....

  • LOVE IT!! GREAT MEMORIES!!

  • Can't believe I still remember this song

  • My fav I've got chills running down my spine :) Played this over & over & over

  • I blame these pricks for Britney Spears!

  • @15scottie - Maybe so, but this remake of Dokken was out in 1990. 9 Years before Britney, and Britney's music was no where this good, when she first came out. It took Britney Spears 10 years after her own debut, to come up with music that was ahead of her music by 20 years. This style of music was freestyle/electropop/High Energy. Not bad for 1990 teen pop.

  • when the mickey mouse club show was on this was the orignal dance group of the mickey mouse club aproching the new area of mickey mouse club bands

  • I love that this group was individually so charismatic that you can watch any one of them and still feel totally immersed in the song, even if they're not singing lead. A lot of singers today you find that your eyes wander and the camera has to focus in on th singer because otherwise their back-up dancers/singers would have your attention more than the actual artist. This group does NOT have this problem.

  • Does anyone else want DeeDee's hairstyle? And voice? And talent? And pretty much to just look like her?

  • WHOA what the??? I thought I had already found the most obscure hits of the 90s, but this one is especially interesting because of how different it was from the music at the time. They basically missed the late 80s - very early 90s teen pop boom, and tried to become popular long before the late 90s teen pop explosion, just odd to find this type of music in 1992. Looks like they may have laid the groundwork for groups like S Club, etc.

  • @NewWaveArch90 I know. I still love The Party. It does seem like, unfortuantely, timing sometimes is everything and they were just a few years ahead of their time.

  • OH MY GOSH! I completely screamed and jumped up at down! This took me back how many years! I LOVED THIS GROUP STILL DO! THANX FOR POSTING THIS!

  • I'm sorry but when I saw this version on tv back in the mid 90's I wanted to scream blue murder. this is in fact the most embarrassing version of the classic dokken tune. it also an insult to hair metal fans around the world. what a disgrace,

  • I love this song, havent heard it in almost 20 years geesh i feel old!

  • Comment removed

  • I never saw this when I was younger, but it reminds me of the power rangers.

  • I still Love this song!!

  • This song was written and sung by Dokken. Lil kiddies remember Puff D also stole alot of songs trust me boys and girls I been there since 82 breakin down to songs and still do to this day. Whatttttttttttttttttttttttt?

  • This is complete sacrliige... Taking actually real music made by actual real musicians and reducing it to this god awful nonsense

  • @iamdannywilde Oh take your Earl Grey tea and walk away then, snob. lol

I remember this from when I was in about 6th grade. Good stuff. Of course nowadays I know it's a Dokken song, and I like their song too.... they're both good for different reasons. It's okay to like the "real rock and roll" but it's also okay to dig the "poppy" stuff too. More people like this than they care to admit, I'll bet.

  • Even 19 years later, this song still holds up. The Party deserved far more mainstream success than what they got, the timing just wasn't right, this was released when Nirvana and Soundgarden were exploding, and pop music was in decline. The Party made amazing music, it's good so many people still remember them and enjoy the music.

  • Dokken should record the Party's version of this song. I want to see Don cabbage patching to this song.

  • I'll take hot Asian ass for 2000, Alex.

  • It's like the cast of Glee lol

  • @PsychLion Bad comparison

  • @PsychLion I'd actually love if 'Glee' did this song! I was 15 when this came out & I still have the cassette single and listen to every blue moon. Just one of those songs when you were young that you love forever. :-)

  • @Heartboy1031 You are either 12 or broadway musical gay... No one watches "glee" that is cool or over 12. They are ALL completely devoid of any musical talent or ability. Anyways Glee is going to be cancelled at midseason

  • Heard this song while shopping -- been looking for it -- had know idea it was so old -- wish i had a chance to enjoy it back in the 90's -- i like the solo section but i wonder if they should have put in a guitar solo because that was the best part in Dokken's original version -- thanks for upload

  • @hha6 you actually heard this song in a store? they're actually still playing this song?

  • @PopCulture20 heard it in a grocery store : )

  • @hha6 Oh that's right I forgot about satellite radio which is pretty much dedicated to every song that has made it to the top 50 at least on the Hot 100. This song was a top 40 itself #34

  • AWESOME SONG AND GROUP

  • Love this song but I only know it because of Dokken's version. Both are cool.

  • @NobodysAngel81 Version??? Dokken WROTE it because theycan actually play and write music.. These talentless fucks couldnt write their own name. They were awful sold almost nothing and were quickly forgotten. Dokken however sold 50 million records and are a household name still

  • @iamdannywilde these 5 did write there own songs

  • I live for this!!

  • Chase Hampton had the best voice every...I wish he had went solo;(

  • haha me and my dance group entered a dance competition with this song and we won 1st place! hahaha! love that year of my life!

  • I actually love this version equally as the original which is why I put it on my I-pod

  • I had alot of people tell me I look like Tiffani.....

  • hello'

  • People use tell me I look like Tiffani I wish my hair is dark other feature that I want name I want name

  • I wish that there are 2 times machines for those who wants back in time in the 80's and the 90's miss those days

  • where can I find this song for my ipod Ilooked everywhere

  • @jabaris on soulseek, i have it

  • MMC came out with the best and only.

  • Well... the women are certainly better looking than the guys in Dokken.. but.. the song is nothing compared!

  • LOVE this song!!

  • I love that this was a multiracial group before that was necessarily a common thing, and that that wasn't the group's focus-it was a talented group of five people that were good representatives that beauty and talent come in all colors.

  • these awesome people are WAAAAAY more better than today's disney singers and bands..Why?, because it was the fuckin' 90's :)

  • This just goes to show you that a great song can be made in any genre!!! And I am one of the biggest Dokken fans ever!!!

  • @spyderj1999 as a Dokken listener, I have to admit that this version isn't that bad but my heart will always be with the original one

  • Oh Yeah. I definitely agree.

  • Im jus glad I know Im not the only one who remembers this group. I tried to ask & show my cousin if he remembered them, he kept tellin me they were the California Dreams lol.

  • Back then when song Has meaningful lyrics these days

music sounds exremely bad very few good songs our music industry is not even good any more

  • It's funny how an association with Disney is golden but back then it was a stigma they could never get past.

  • I actually like this version better. Yeah, it looks too much like C.C. Music Factory, but it's better than Dokken. DOKKEN YOU SUCKIN'

  • Does anyone know why none of these people made a solo career, but their younger pro-doges from the Mickey Mouse Club DID?

  • Actually, Chase has a pretty good career. He performs solo and with Tony Lucca regularly in LA. He wrote some music for the show, "Big Love," and he has his own album. He is a super amazing guy too. DeeDee did a lot of work on Broadway and now she is married and a Mom. Damon and Albert started a group, "NDecent Proposal," a few years ago. It seemed pretty good, but for some reason it didn't work out. I stay in touch with Chase & Albert. Cool guys.

  • Yes. It's called the music business.

  • @ amsedelm-i saw dokken at jones beach too years ago and loved their version of this song. but i love the party's version just as much!

  • I remember hearing this at the beach in Long Island, NY and it was weird. Being a Dokken fan I found it cool and it gave Dokken a credibility for having a crossover hit. BTW, this version freaking rocks.

  • you should hear the remixed version of this song by the party. Its on Youtube as well. It Rocks too.

  • WTF??????? Dokken better have gotten payed plenty for this shit!!!!!

  • I use to love this song!!!

  • Thanks for posting this video...used it to make a remixed-version! On my page if you'd like to hear it...

    -Scotca2

  • I have this on my itunes if anyone is interested?

  • I has been forever since I have heard this one!

  • Just added a remixed-version to my page. Thanks for the original file...I had forgotten all about this song!

  • Lovin those bi-level haircuts!

  • How come this song is not on ITunes? I looked for it yesterday.

  • ...I LOVE THIS BAND!!! weRr can i download therR music!!! I lost alL my old stuFf in a huRricane!!! Thnkx sOo MUCH for posting this!!!... THE PARTY rulez!!!...

  • Anyone get this on their Ipod? If so, let me know how please.

  • They sound like the group catwalk, from

    the hit show.

  • ive ben trying to find this video for so long!! thanks for posting it!!!

  • Damon Pampolina was so friggin' hot! I miss them! :-P

  • I was so obsessed with this song when I was younger... I'm so excited right now! haha.

  • PARTY = Positive Attitude Reflecting Today's Youth. LOL

  • I was tripping when i heard the original from Dokken i think it is?? And i love rock so it was still good!!! But so weird when you've only heard this one first!

  • Damn! I love this song!

  • Comment removed

  • haha those chicks look better in the shade

  • Please. DeeDee and Tiffini look(ed) better in natural light than most of the siliconed, botoxed, anorexic, tucked, sandblasted, spackled, and soulless females out there today! ^_^

  • (my first comment is in response to hemhemima...)

  • @sugargoindown AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sugargoindown little fyi the asian had fake boobs

  • @parmelee23 She was 15, pedo.

  • Deedee was the ONLY talent here!

  • I have to respectfully disagree. Chase's work with Buzzfly and now his solo album proves he's got a hell of a lot of talent. All five of them brought something special to the table. They certainly all could dance. No offense meant, just expressing a different view.

  • 18 years ago? wow......

  • Hard to believe this video came out 18 years ago. The song still holds up, it should have been a bigger hit, but at least it cracked the top 40. (I think it peaked at #34 or thereabouts.)

  • in response to hillbilly. I agree this song was a great cover. But I think the reason it did not progress too high on the charts is because Dokken's version of this song was still fresh in a lot of people's minds.... as I said this is speculation on my part... but I think a good part of that listening demographic probably still prefered Dokken's version of the song over this cover.

  • you're right cause i'm 20 years old right now but if I had been apart of the 90s teen demographic, i would have rejected this song myself because this was an okay attempt to surpass the Dokken version, but there just wasn't enough rhythm/beat patterns in this song to make it worth being a top 20 instead of a top 40. i heard better top 40 dance songs then this one

  • mobzapper, That makes sense. A lot of my friends said the same thing in 1991. A friend of mine was a massive Dokken fan at the time and we used to argue about it a lot (as 14-year-olds do.) :) Had this not been a cover, perhaps people might see it differently. I'm not a huge fan of dance music, but I always liked The Party, they were always the underdogs on the pop landscape.

  • Wow this version of the song is the bomb I was a senior in high school when this came out loves it

  • Oh my!!! What a great song, this brings me back to 1991

  • Do they know ? Those stupid kid sings the song from legendary band "Dokken" ?

  • this is so much better than the Dokken version. gotta let the song grow on you that's all

  • Dokken is legendary?

They're only legendary for being so....

LAME! (Even by 80's hair metal band standards).

  • Damn this is disappointing, I never knew someone remade this great song by Dokken. I'm not trying to say the party sucks or anything its just disappointing to hear a great song from Dokken stripped of everything that is great about it and turned into an over produced pop-techno song

  • It's not a remake, it's a COVER.

  • actually a remake is the same as a cover became any aspect of someone else's song that you're using such as the record or song lyrics it's considered both a cover and remake.

  • I loved The Party..especially Dee Dee and Tiffany. Our generation had the best music and shows,

  • tiffini and damon never dated that was a rumor

  • Dee Dee is hot. She should have my children.

  • Brilliant early-90s techno-pop song, one that's been really forgotten. But this video.. JESUS could it be any more generic?

  • Great song!

Does anyone have a clearer version of this music video?

  • QUIT BEING SILLY . THIS IS CLEAR ENOUGH

  • Being lifted off from Yahoo's Music site and uploaded, the quality is not as clear as it could be having seen the original video when I VJ'd this song years ago. So I'm not being silly since I can see the poor resolution in this copy.

  • Comment removed

  • When I was 12 I was the "lucky caller" who got to announce this song as the "Top 9 and 9"...it was one of the greatest moments of 7th grade.

  • I remember when Damon and Tiffany were dating during "The Party".

  • I am watching VH1's Do It For The Band: The Women of the Sunset Strip. They played the intro for Dokken, and I was thinking I heard this before, but not as a rock song. Needless to say by the process of elimination, I found this video. I used to love this song in middle school. Thanks for posting it.

  • I think Martika or Expose should update this song. Very similar sound.

  • where is she now?

  • First song where the remake is as good as the original. I love em both. I'll always have a special place in my heart for dokken though

  • this video gave me seizures......

  • Damn, Deedee's voice is ridiculous. In a good way. Jeez, how old was I when this came out? Probably eight or so.

  • It's amazing how you can cross a range of genres (Metal, Dance Pop) with a good song structure. While I can do without the N*SYNC raps and posing in this version, the girls' harmonies on the chorus are tight.

  • Good times, goooooooood times...

  • this must be from the second album. i vaguely remember it. sounds good tho. guess the sound was becoming more mature.

  • i feel like a total lame ass for knowing and posting the following response to you (seeing as how im now 30 and this came out when i was like 13) it was from their 2nd album called "In The Meantime, In Between Time"

  • ummm, thank you. listen though. if you are a lame ass then so am i. sometimes you just want to hear some old music. nothing wrong with that.

  • KG95 Winona,MN '92 !!!!! We played the crap out of this at night! I had those speakers pumped ! ahhh memories!

  • i havn't heard this for probably 10 years, or more. hah thanks for putting this up.

  • wow, this brings back memories! A great group. I am so glad you have this video.

  • I don't think this is Dokken LOL.

  • GREAT MUSIC!!! Alexei of Alberta Canada

  • i can't believe you have this. i used to have their videos on VHS. it's been so long

  • i was in grade 9 when this came out

this is so cool, now im in my 30's looking back

    aww good ole memories.............

  • They was a good band. I remember when I was in Elementary School (Secundaria). And I like this song

  • I LUVVVVVVVV IT

  • I still have this on cassette tape. Talk about old school.

  • I through that one out what an a**hole I am! :(

  • That's old school for ya!!!!

  • Ahh,sixth grade flashback.

  • this is sooo much better than the original, i listened to the original and it lacks, something, this version just makes u wanna get up and start dancing....

  • wow ur lame....

  • omg. talk about a flashback.

  • great freestyle feel to this song, just a fantastic song to jam and cruise to

  • I Post on this vid soooo much. I love the OG MMC. DeeDee, Tiffany, Albert, Chase and Damon. FYI, look for a side role / cameo in Sabrina the Teenage Witch where you can see Chase as a 60's beach hipster.

  • Dokken just missed the Top 40 with this song in the mid 80s. Somebody else scored a big hit with it. I prefer the Dokken version, but this isn't bad.

  • I think it hit #24 for Dokken.

  • Always loved this song. These kids can dance! I remember watching them on Mickey Mouse years ago. I miss the 90's it was time when people actually could sing & not just rap.

  • New Jack Radio is launcing two new internet stations. If you like this era of music, Njs4ever Networks, LLC will take care of you. Stay tuned, and mark my words.

    Me.

  • launching*

  • hahaha i loved this group...

  • i had a crush on tiffany. she was hot. whatever happend to them?

  • chase is still singing and has a myspace page / albert and damon are in a group together and have a myspace page

  • i know dee dee is married now and what about tiffany?

got to find chase's myspace. link me to them

  • humankiller99, Tiffini hasn't really been heard from since The Party broke up in 1993. There are rumors, but it seems like she prefers a quieter life now. To find Chase on MySpace, look up Chasen Hampton. His new music is really good, he redid The Party's "Movin' On."

  • thanks for the info.

sucks we wont see a PARTY reunion. but u never know.

good for tiff. hope she has a good life ahead of her. :)

  • tiffini and chase hosted the last season of mmc together

  • This holds a memory to me...as I'm sure it does to many.

  • This completely takes me back to 8th grade! No bills and no taxes to worry about- just me in my room with my Bop magazines and my Party tapes!

  • DAMN!!! I miss the early 90's BADLY!!!

  • me 2!! But I miss the 80's even more.

  • It's not bad, but I'd probably like this a lot more if I wasn't such a huge fan of the original, I LOVE Dokken.

  • What an awesome find- bought this tune as soon as I heard it. And you can't beat the hairdos! What a great dance song! Even the kids, a TOTALLY different generation, ask for this song often!

  • mAN...MEMORIES... i REMEMBER THIS GETTING A LOT OF PLAY ON MTV

  • oh my god wtf is this, aaaaaah!

  • Thank you. Thank you! I love this song. I've been looking for the video. I remember this growing up. :)
