I am sure you all wonder what convoluted obtuse reason I could have for believing there is a conscious cause to everything? especially since i have no reason to believe i am going to heaven or hell. And yes we could well have been formed by a process like evolution. I read a paper on a survey of Americans consisting of 2 questionnaires.

1) When asked if they went to church on Sunday the vast majority said yes.

2) When asked to detail what they did on every day of the week from waking to bedtime the figures for those who ACTUALLY went to church on Sunday fell to about 40%.

The reason was that church is part of the "cultural identity" of America so when asked as a single question they lied, probably without realising it 8-)

Yes, one can always make a definition which allows a God to violate the laws of logic, but that doesn't have much intellectual weight since one cannot just define things into reality or possibility.
