  • 2: no bending knees and chin on chest

    3: chin on chest

    4: legs vertically

    5: heels on ground

    better read the book everyone!

  • Where do I get the song," Precious" ?

  • I would love a copy of Precious also. Please tell me where/how to get one.

    Blessings and thank you,

    Nancy

  • @aureliosantana08

Try THis in CONJUNCTION with Green JUICE / GREen HEMP MYLK THERAPY!!!

  • gracias i just started the first one and i feel joy

  • I have to admit I find the first one completely pointless, all it does is make me feel dizzy. However, the first time I did these properly I had this odd buzz all day long and just had this silly grin on my face the whole time like I was stoned. I put it down to the deep breathing as much as anything else but the movements certainly reinvigorate your body.

  • does anyone else get a real euphoric, "flushed" feeling when doing these??

i notice that my face tingles, mr cheeks go rosy, a vein (or something) just under my jaw seems to make my whole face flush and when i look in the mirror i look really rejuvinated?

  • @aureliosantana08 Yes! Yes! I get the euphoric feeling without the flushing. I'm preparing for the filming (starts Thursday) of my Tibetan Rites DVD so I'm really immersing myself in them (especially so I can teach beginners as well.) Peter Kelder: "The body has seven centers called Vortexes...They revolve at great speed in the healthy body....The quickest way to regain health, youth and vitality is to start these magnetic centers spinning again." These are not the seven chakras as we know them

  • @aureliosantana08 u are funny u wait miracles, but too measy anyway do no wrong even that little one.but too as a man quickly not as this old lady who does it like joke in slow motion and still waits miracle to happen it never happens.why.they dont train they teach:)

  • what a joke this is. they are strong brething exercises!not slow muba dumba. you must sweating all around and not just little but like coming from shower. now correct yourself!

  • @aureliosantana08 simply a reaction to blood flow/circulation. Most excersize or yoga will do the same!!

  • Lovely...and I am grateful to you for sharing.

Where might I secure the lyrics to "Precious"? I did an online search but found nothing.

    Thank you, Aaynne *smiles*

  • @EklectikaAaynne Hi! Thanks for your kind comments. If you'd like an MP3 of "Precious," please send me an email. Go to my website and click on Contact Us and write to me - I'll forward it to Peter.

  • What a fabulous, fabulous video Ellen! Thank you so much for sharing it. I have just started doing the rites and was not sure from paper how to do it. Now I know!!!

Plus, I LOVE the music. Your son has a fabulously mellow and calming voice. Bless you both for caring enough to share yourselves. Bubbles xx

  • @PatriciaDawn1 Oh, you're wonderful, Patricia. Send me an email from Contact Us at my website and I'll forward it to Peter so he can send you an MP3 of "Precious."

    Joy!

    Ellen

  • Ive been doing these rites off and on for 25 years now. Ellen's demonstration adds a completely new dimension that I did not know about in 1986. Beautifully demonstrated. Trust me, they work...I can assure you that you will prosper with new energy and vitality. The new, slower way also allows for you to experience the medatative state I am sure that was meant to be there all along.

  • @Stevevinn Thank you, Steve. Yes!!! These Rites are a moving meditation. I'm working on the outline for the DVD right now and I just made a bullet point to tell viewers that it is a moving meditation. Do you want an MP3 of my son's song, "Precious"? Just send me an email and I'll forward it to him and he'll send it to you free - and to anyone else who'd like to have it. He wants to share that song with people.

  • @Stevevinn - NEW dimension for the Rites... why? Just do them the original way. E.g. by CURLING up your toes in rite 3.... And The original rite #2 doesn't show the bending forward to the ground. #4 - first bend your head forward, THAN backward before going to "table" position. I really don't understand why the Rites are being "re-invented"....

  • Thank you for your demonstration of the Five Rites. Based on your examples, I will change the way that I do some of them. We also loved your son's song precious. We would love to play it at our wedding in July. Is it for sale? Between the song and the demonstration we can not tell you how much we enjoyed them both. Thanks so much. Bernie

  • Thank you. thank you. thank you. And I am so grateful for your kind words. Please sent me an email so I can forward it to Peter. I'm sure he'll send you the MP3 of "Precious."

    With love and gratitude,

    Ellen

  • I am just amazed by YOU! So beautiful and peaceful. Peter's song moved me to tears -- the lyrics are incredible and so is his voice. It might be the most moving song i've ever heard. THANK YOU so much for sharing this gift with all of us -- I'm so grateful.

  • Great video and motivating woman. Boy though, that music was a bit rough going with the clip. Fantastic Woman!!

  • thanks this was great. I will try this. it helps to see it and the music is lovely.

  • Are you shure your doing rite 4 , Right ? cause your ment to breathe in as you go up and then tense all you muscle then breath out as you go down it dont look like you tense your muscle s?

  • Thanks, randombyday! Send me a regular email and I'll forward it to Peter so he can send you an MP3 of "Precious" if you want it.

  • Peter makes good music. Cool video.

  • Wow! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am incredibly grateful for your kind words. Send me an email if you'd like a copy of Peter's song, "Precious," and I'll forward your email to him. He's been sending it free to people who ask where to buy it.

    Joy and Blessings!

    Ellen

  • Ellen, You ROCK!

These are not only "the right way" because they come from "The Eye of Revelation" (though that's wonderful with the forward bend on rite 3, too!)

Yours is the ONLY video I've found on youtube that shows 99.8% Proper Form for the 5 Rites (see comments below about toe placement in Rite 3 -- which you humbly acknowledge).

I finally have somewhere to send folks to see and try the rites without qualification.

    Much Love and Respect.

    All blessings be yours.

  • Everybody does this a little different.

  • Thank you for the great video! By the way, you look fantastic at 73 years young! You are an inspiration for many people! Keep up the good work! You rock!

  • hi i want to learn how we should breath while doing these exercises?

  • She has poor form. in the 2nd rite, her knees are bent for one...

  • Your son has written a beautiful song. Please also put it on Youtube for others to enjoy. It might become extremely popular.

  • @easyeagle2 Thank you for your kind comment about Peter's song. Send me an email howtogrowyounger.(com) and go to Contact Us - Ellen and I'll forward your email to Peter. He has been sending an mp3 of the song to people who ask where to buy it.

  • Awesome, Thanks 4 sharin!

  • i wonder how we should breath while we are doing that rites?

  • @aborijinaslan If you go to scribd.(com) key in Document no. 19868500/Ancient-Secret-of-the-Fountain-of-Youth, this booklet will tell you how and when to breath. It also has an illustration for all the 5 rites. Unfortunately the download is blocked by the author. I got round this challenge by pressing the screen print, then copying the pictures from Print program into Word.

    Hope this helps.

  • @Senegaune thank you

  • @aborijinaslan Thank you for your kindness. I couldn't find that document but I saw an info sheet by putting in The Five Tibetans. It tells how to breathe.

  • u are looking GREAT for your age.

  • by the way you look fabulous for your age.

  • I thought the TOES should be curled up when doing the 3rd rite?

  • @shanna1950 You're absolutely RIGHT, Shanna! I'll remember that when I do the DVD with exact details. EVERYONE PLEASE NOTE: Tuck your toes under to stimulate the reflex points for the pineal and pituitary glands.

    Ellen

  • @ellendwoodusa Another important reason for tucking your toes under is because if you do not, you run the risk of developing your core muscles asymmetrically. If you notice your right foot in the video, it is curling up. The reason for this is because the muscles in your hips and legs are more flexible in your left side (non dominant I assume). Gravity follows the path of least resistance and your weight is leaning left. Your right core muscles contract to counter act your asymmetry.

  • @ThirdEyeLight You're so right! Actually, my foot was cramping and I kept trying to shake it out. Yes, we should curl our toes under. I'll have to do another video soon the RIGHT RIGHT way. Thanks for your comment.

  • @ThirdEyeLight You’re right! Actually, my toes had a cramp and I was trying to shake it out. I’ll have to do another video one of these days: the right RIGHT way. Thanks for your comment.

    Ellen

  • @shanna1950 Was that the only mistake you saw? Willing to try it and looking for a video that does them the right way to learn from.

  • @aslangroudi - google for 5 Tibetan Rites and Mary Kurus. Great information about the Rites, and original pictures from the book by Peter Kelder. N.B.: because of detox by doing the rites please drink enough water. 1.5 liter daily.

  • THank you. Thank you. This makes sense to plant the right heel down in rite #1. I'm going to do that.

  • @ellendwoodusa I've been practicing planting my right heel but it's very difficult and doesn't feel quite right. It's easier to plant my right TOES but maybe I need more practice planting my heel for it to feel comfortable. Anyone else try it?

  • @ellendwoodusa Hi^^ congrats for your success and for your amazing energy. Let me ask u a question. Why have u changed the movement in the third rite? i m at the beginning so i m searching for the better way to do rites even if i know every person should fit them to its own body:)....thousend of thanks and greetings from italy!

  • @Neralivrea Thanks for your question. I was mistaken about the toes re #3. They are supposed to be curled under because it puts pressure on specific meridians. Details on p. 25 of The Eye of Revelation by Peter Kelder ed. by J.W. WATT: "the 1st position of this Rite is to kneel on a rug or mat with hands at sides, palms flat against the side of legs, then lean forward as far as possible, bending at the waist, with head well forward, chin on chest." Hope this helps. Joy and Blessings! Ellen

  • plant the right foot/heal of foot as a stake into the ground.... this is frequent in Tibetan rites elsewhere and also belongs here. Yes, slow and complete for each movement is also a huge advantage.

I've lived in Tibet and have met a number of their yoga masters. Please plant right heal! Do not move the heal during first rite.

Breathe deep and tighten EVERY muscle second rite onward when full breath is in at peak of each rite 2-5.

  • @goodenergy11 Was that the only mistake you saw? Willing to try it and looking for a video that does them the right way to learn from.

  • @goodenergy11 Thank you again for telling me to plant my right heel. I'm doing that now and will show it that way in the DVD I'm working on. (Yep, I've been planning this DVD for awhile but soon it will be top priority.) I didn't expect to be the GOLD winner for the Nautilus Book Awards (audio book category) for "Think and Grow Young: Powerful Steps to Create a Life of Joy" audio book. Just happened and took me off track. (sorry this sounds like a commercial - I'm just so excited.) Love,

    Ellen

  • My father has been doing these for years and he is 72 and in awesome shape. I watched your video and this helps so much.. I am starting today and will be looking at your video at first to guide me.. Thank you so much for posting this .. And by the way , you look fabulous....

  • Thank you! Let me know how it goes. And see goodenergy11's comment about planting the right heel for rite #1. That feels right for me.

    Joy and Blessings!

    Ellen

  • Awsome, this was a great clarification for Peter Kidlers book.

    Thank YOU!

  • How many years are you doing that?

  • I have been doing these for almost a year now. It works. I am handling alot of things well and it has been rough. Thanks much.

  • She looks better than Jane Fonda at that age!

  • thank you Ellen, I'm starting to do the rites and I decided to follow your guide, somehow you helped me decide because I felt it was difficult to do them and theyr'e really easy, blessings and love

  • Excellent!

As a woman, I didn't think I could do the push up one. You showed me it's possible. Thanks!

  • I don't know why she calls this the "right way" because it's not the way described by Peter Kelder. She modded all but the first rite.

  • Thank you for your comment - it gives me a chance to reiterate that another manuscript BY PETER KELDER has been discovered. It gives greater details on how to do them. The title of this book is "Eye of Revelation" and I highly recommend it and "Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth".

    Joy and Blessings!

    Ellen

  • Great video, Ellen! Added to my favorites. I have started doing the tibetans every morning. They really do help set the day off on the right foot. Peter's song was very touching. Thank you both for sharing your gifts with us :)

  • Thanks for this demonstration! This short video cleared up quite a few things for me. It's also very inspirational seeing you at 73, glowing with energy and looking great!!

  • Absolutely there is! These are not just "exercises." Do them with a deep sense of gratitude for everything in your life and keep the thought and emotion of gratitude and love while you're doing them. Every day when I practice these, I listen to my Affirmations to Grow Younger CD and repeat the affirmation out loud when there's a pause after each. There are lots of "thank you, thank you, thank you"s on the CD so it helps me stay in that state of gratitude during the Tibetans and afterwards.

    Ellen

  • Thanks! this is slower than I learned to do these, but I will try this tempo. I have been doing these for 1 year now and they were invaluable to me in recovering from an illness. I used 10 weeks to get to 21 repititions. I feel often encouraged to experiment with one or another of the exercises and feel as if there is some kind of personal development going on through them.

  • You are such a lovely lady and your son plays so nicely. So you convinced me, from today, I am going to use your video to practice the 5, because I am 59 now and just about survived throat cancer and now 5 years on, I am getting to fat and less mobile thank you :-)

  • Wow, I've been searching for a video showing how to do the rites correctly & just found this. Very inspirational. Thank you so much, Ellen ... many blessings to you!

  • Thank you, all of you, for your kind comments. I send you enormous blessings and tons of joy in your lives. (I'm also glad you like my son's song, "Precious.")

  • wow, u are so inspirational, i've been neglecting my health most of my life, and seeing u do this gives me hope to try and change my life style. thanx for the inspiration u are wonderful, and beautyful.

  • Thanx Ellen, I can't wait to try those exercises.

You are the best inspiration ever, very well done.

  • I wrote yesterday. I am 61 and started after seeing you. Let me say after doing the 5 exercises slowly with you (and somewhat poorly), I am totally warmed up, tingling, and feel good about my self. I know it will become easier in time and I know I will regain some flexibility. I really needed this! THANKS so much. You are truly inspiring.

  • I had been starting to doubt myself and my ability to continue trying to look and feel good. When I saw you on Youtube talking about and doing the Tibetan Rites I was impressed and my hopes were--and are continuing to be-rekindled. You look so good! The song by Peter Wood spoke to me so deeply I cried. It is perfect for keeping me inspired.

  • These are great Ellen, thank you. I practiced them far too fast a couple of years ago and got little benefit. I am starting all over again inspired by this video.

  • Wow, very strong, controlled and flexible. Thisn should be an inspiration to everyone over 60.

  • WOW - thank you for showing the Right Way to do these exercises. I believe you can go further past your head with your toes on the 2nd exercise. eventually to the floor even, but you show this in a way that does not discourage people.

and further back with the 3rd exercise.

I just learned of these last night. Thank you again, I am 61 and am starting today.

  • loved this video, you are an inspiration for me and the music touched my heart!

  • As a 62 year old obese women, I have decided to live the rest of my life healthy and as a Buddhist, those 5 exercises fit right into my lifestyle. Thank you Ellen. Your son's music is a wonderful background to your helpful demonstration.

  • Ellen, really excellent demonstration of the exercises. I do hope you come out with a DVD. I'll certainly purchase it. You look great! I have your book and would love to hear more from you.

  • Thank you, you are an excellent example for following these exercises.
