Thankyou, Margo. Thankyou stevemudock. Thankyou, whatever muse balmed the soul of Townes van Zandt. Keep his peace, love, and wisdom in our hearts. Twain Shakespeare Ross
I am trying to get the "hidden" song on Miles from our home. It starts about a minute or two after the last song is over. Some of the lyrics are, " Honey, they'll be calling to tell ya' your daddy's never coming back." & " I saw your daddy's feet sticking out of a sack." If anybody can help me get this song. . . . I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,
I was at this show. It was the second set, all the performers were in tears for most of the night, and I suspect they had lifted more than one toast to Townes throughout the evening. One of the most moving shows Iw as ever at, so soon after Townes' untimely death.
also, this version is horrible. i have heard an extremely, extremely beautiful version of this song with just a lady singing and an acoustic guitar. i can't find it anywhere on this derned infonet! way better than this crud. she doesn't even know the lyrics, and she has them in her hand! i don't really even groove to the original, but the lyrics are among the best i've ever heard. bea-fucking-utiful. wish i knew who sang that good version.... daaaaaang. sorry to the jerks who are angry.
I love Townes. I think he's the best songwriter ever, and nothing bout the Junkies but this is awful. I just think that covers/tributes should have some resemblance to the original
I've got all their albums!!! Yippeee for me.

I think its great that she kept her cool when forgetting the words. But you can see her saying to Mike that she forgot the words

Well they were successful in making this sound like everything else they do. Nice voice, but probably the worst I've ever heard.

I'm ferociously defendent of Townes' music. But, having the Margo play Townes' music is just too damn good. I can only blush.
