How much do we continue to invest? What of returns?

The Union Pacific and the Central Pacific died only after eating up 44 million acres of free land and $61 million in cash loans. Large sections of the lines they did complete soon had to be rebuilt and sometimes even relocated due to shoddy construction. Robber barons indeed. and all bankrupt. Your idea however, seems to be that it wouldn't have happened without the subsidies? It is a broad stroke because it is in large part incredibly accurate, not because there is a single (or minute few) exceptions to the rule. How much did we invest in boeing? How much do we continue to invest? What of returns?

This interview was a waste of time to watch. Not because of Dr. Paul (he's a good man, and a genuis). 8:03 sums it up: "Let me get a word in." Spitzer is doing nothing more than trying to set up Dr. Paul, trap him with an answer he was prepared for, and then try to counter it. When Dr. Paul was about to actually answer, Spitzer would say "let's change gears" or would stammer and interrupt. When it finally, I had to laugh when Spitzer called what they just did "intellectual sparring"!
