Since Hebrews 4 starts out referencing the believer, how is it that the believer saved by grace can come short of entering his rest? The promise in 4:1 is conditional. 4:2 says the gospel was preached unto them as well as us. What does gospel in this verse refer to ? This gospel was to profit. What does that mean? The fact that 4:11 says "to enter that rest" we must labor, means that this is not a reference to the gospel of grace that saves, since that is not of works lest any man should boast.

Aren't we all supposedly Jew inwardly? Romans 2:28-29 says yes, so it's misleading to make a distinction between Christians & the Children of Isreal. Were those Christians keeping the Sabbath in the Book of Acts? Acts 13:14-44; 17:2; & 18:4 (& more but the answer is yes). Paul was Christian & a Jew right? I changed my ways this year and told myself I would work for the Lord six days per week and rest on the 7th and focus on spending time with my family on that day (and still worship through prayer, church, and bible reading, but rest from work).
I now sometimes dread Sunday, because going to church interrupts my work for the Lord, but I do get charged up in my local church. Too much work, not enough workers, not enough time.

So the logic you use for the existence of the law is inaccurate, Jesus kept the law and he was not a lawless person in any form or way, he was and is perfect. God made flesh. Thus we can say that even perfect beings, beings that do not transgress the law still adhere to it, by extension we can say that the law must have pre-existed if lucifer was able to fall from grace. Brother God Made the 7th day holy and blessed One day over others in Genesis before any covanent was made in Gen 2:1-3 please read and get back to me. Another time it is given to israel before the Law was given also in Exodus 16. There are 2 messages in Hebrews 4. Entering God's rest is a future event, until then we remain obedient.

The Holy Spirit ministers the same Commandments as what was written in stone, & it is far more glorious for God to write on our conscience. In 2 Cor 3...glory was done away but not the commandments. It is glorious that the Spirit ministers, & that we can spread it beyond what could be done with stone.

But just like outside worship in our flesh (lips, religion) is vanity to God, the Sabbath God wants kept is the internal, in our hearts and our spirits. Are you saying that Paul did not cease from his works, when he kept the sabbath day? Are you saying Paul did not enter into the rest of Jesus, when he kept the sabbath day?
I also think we should keep it as a example, just as Jesus, Paul, and all the rest did, as a example that we obey God, so people don't think we don't have to follow the commandments, or that the commandments were old covenant. The bible says that those who do not obey God's commandments will not inherit the kingdom of God. the reason I still ask this question still, is because Jesus said many false teachers would come and deceive many. If paul said to follow his example and he kept the sabbath then why don't the church keep it, and even more important is if Jesus kept it, why don't the church. I use to look at the bible and ignore things it said, because of what a false teacher told me, instead of actually noticing what Jesus did and said, and my life was almost destroyed.

On one particular occasion Paul preached to both Jews and Gentiles on the Sabbath (Acts 13:14-42). After the Jews left the synagogue, did the Gentiles ask Paul to preach to them again on the next Sabbath? Verse 42. On the next Sabbath, how many came to hear Paul? Verse 44.

Matthew 24:20 has Yeshua telling His disciples to pray ( that when the abomination of desolation takes place, as per Daniel's prophecy) which also signifies the nearing of the return of the Lord, that their flight away from Judaea should not take place on the sabbath day. Yeshua knows that His followers will be obeying the commandments. Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14 (way after His ascension)
Here is where the confusion is; What was "passing", "nailed" to the cross, etc is NOT the commandment s but the "curse". "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." Did not John say he was in the Spirit on the LORD'S DAY? (Rev 1:10). As you can see there is a specific day for God's Holy Day. What God's Holy Day is very clear in Scripture Isa 58:13-14, Mt 12:8, Mk 2:27-28, Lk 6:5, Ex 20:10-11, Gn 2:1-3.

Since Hebrews 4 starts out referencing the believer, how is it that the believer saved by grace can come short of entering his rest? The promise in 4:1 is conditional. 4:2 says the gospel was preached unto them as well as us. What does gospel in this verse refer to ? This gospel was to profit. What does that mean? The fact that 4:11 says "to enter that rest" we must labor, means that this is not a reference to the gospel of grace that saves, since that is not of works lest any man should boast.

I liked what you said about the Sabbath. That's OT stuff.
I changed my ways this year and told myself I would work for the Lord six days per week and rest on the 7th and focus on spending time with my family on that day (and still worship through prayer, church, and bible reading, but rest from work).
I now sometimes dread Sunday, because going to church interrupts my work for the Lord, but I do get charged up in my local church. Too much work, not enough workers, not enough time.

So the logic you use for the existence of the law is inaccurate, Jesus kept the law and he was not a lawless person in any form or way, he was and is perfect. God made flesh. I've tried to understand the biblical call to keep the Sabbath, and I have to say, I came back with the same premise -- that every day is to be a day of holy sacrifice and living We need to come together regularly to worship. We need each other daily. We need rest, and time to think about Him, to study His Word. God asks us to do these things out of love for us, and His understanding of us as our Creator.

@lsd972 , and why are you AVOIDING the REST that's ONLY in Christ, Jesus which is our Sabbath. To esteem Saturday above other days & tell others that the rest in on that DAY is Blasphemy! The broad way which leads to death is SIN and unless you CEASE from ALL sin, Hell awaits. I encourage you to seek the REST that's in Jesus, because in Him you will be FREE from sin, you understand? Never sinning again for the rest of your life. Believe & learn God's will for you.

I've tried to understand the biblical call to keep the Sabbath, and I have to say, I came back with the same premise -- that every day is to be a day of holy sacrifice.

Sabbath Not just for Jews. The proselyte and the sojourner also joined Israel from out of Egypt. The new believers were to start off slow with the Torah. They would learn Torah every Sabbath in the synagogue. Acts 15:19

Amen. I will not judge a brother who wants to keep the Sabbath in the flesh. But just like outside worship in our flesh (lips, religion) is vanity to God, the Sabbath God wants kept is the internal, in our hearts and our spirits. Yes we have ceased from our works and have entered into that rest. Staying home on a Saturday and harboring bitterness or unforgiveness is not honoring the Sabbath, that is flesh worship and we worship our Lord in spirit and in truth.

complicated topic, what I would say is that the commandments is based on love, none can be removed, or Christ is the minister of sin, however they were also imperfect and represented a curse, God in his love saw this and sent his Son to perfect and establish the law in us, whether we appear to keep the sabbath or not, is not the issue, the issue is love, we are not under the law as Christians all that we do should be out of love for man and God anything else is sin, it is grace that saves.

Are you saying that Paul did not cease from his works, when he kept the sabbath day? Are you saying Paul did not enter into the rest of Jesus, when he kept the sabbath day?

I also think we should keep it as a example, just as Jesus, Paul, and all the rest did, as a example that we obey God, so people don't think we don't have to follow the commandments, or that the commandments were old covenant. The bible says that those who do not obey God's commandments will not inherit the kingdom of God. It is a matter of life and death to keep his commandments, and if you ignore one, then some people will think it is ok to not be perfect, which will lead to passivity

the reason I still ask this question still, is because Jesus said many false teachers would come and deceive many. If paul said to follow his example and he kept the sabbath then why don't the church keep it, and even more important is if Jesus kept it, why don't the church. I use to look at the bible and ignore things it said, because of what a false teacher told me, instead of actually noticing what Jesus did and said, and my life was almost destroyed.

Lets get right to what's bothering you...How about the part when I said we must CEASE from our works(SINS) which is entering the rest of Jesus...Hebrews 4, remember that? One thing I've noticed about (most) Sabbath keepers is the FLEE from a dialogue concerning living sin free IN Christ, so they continue in their WORKS missing Jesus Christ...wanna talk? lets do it.

Plus Christ and the Father are one, John 10:30. Christ does what pleases the father, John 8:29. How do you break a perpetual covenant? If the Old testament doesn't matter that much, why are the two greatest commandment from the Old Testament? Leviticus 19:18, Deuteronomy 11:13.Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12.

Exodus 31:16, it is a perpetual covenant. Matthew 5:18,19, Not one jot or title should past from the law. Who breaks the least commandments and teaches it to men shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. Galatians 3:29, if you're in Christ, then you're the seed of Abraham, which would make you an Israelite(Spiritual Israel). Ezekiel 20:20, shows that when you keep the Sabbath the Lord is your God. Why would God remove the sign the shows that he is your God?

And if some the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree ,wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fattness of the olive tree.

On one particular occasion Paul preached to both Jews and Gentiles on the Sabbath (Acts 13:14-42). After the Jews left the synagogue, did the Gentiles ask Paul to preach to them again on the next Sabbath? Verse 42. On the next Sabbath, how many came to hear Paul? Verse 44.

@Nobby1844 , The church was just starting in Acts, therefore Paul went to the Tabernacles on the Sabbath to preach the Gospel to the unsaved Jews still keeping the Sabbath. Also I noticed you had nothing to say about ceasing from ALL sin which I mentioned in the video. Any teaching that does not teach that IN Christ we can live the rest of our lives without ever sinning again is of the Devil...So what teaching are you following? Rest from YOUR works(sin) & enter into the rest of Christ, amen

I Think the Lord told us to do all the commands in Mark 12:28 - 31and I could be wrong,but I believe he was briefly comprehending the first 4 commands in verse 30 and briefly comprehending the other 6 in verse 31.Just as Romans 13:9 says,"For this,thou shalt not commit adultery ,kill,steal,bear false witness,or covet;and if there be any other commandment,it is" BRIEFLY COMPREHENDED" in this saying,namely, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." From new moon to new moon and from sabbath to sabbath simply means continual worship (never ending) .Doesnt mean we will observe the sabbath no more than it means we will observe the new moon. Do you also observe the new moon now? Col.2:16...let no man judge you in respect of an holyday, or of the NEW MOON, or of the SABBATH. From sabbath to sabbath covers ALL days, as does new moon to new moon covers ALL days...a continuous cycle of worship, ALL DAYS!! Amen and take care.

@TrueCore08 You are just spinning and twisting by putting your own interpretation. It does not say all that stuff you said. From one sabbath to another{means from one sabbath to another sabbath}. All flesh{all nations} at Christ return will keep sabbath every 7th day. Plus Zec 14:1-21 when Christ returns all nations will keep the feast of tabernacles which is in the Torah. Try to spin yourself out of those scriptures if you can. Did you see what ryzhrv62h posted and you still resist God's Spirit

What do you do with Yeshua being the Lord of the Sabbath? That is the 7th Day Sabbath, the Sabbath of the Jews, mind you. Remember Yeshua is Jewish.
If every day is held high and set aside, then how are you setting aside those day from the rest of the week?
Yeshua said that He doesn't change, but yet you claim that He changed His own commandments. Which is it? Does He change His mind, or is He the same yesterday, today, AND tomorrow?

I think you are sincere, brother, but the Sabbath was given to man in Eden and will be kept in heaven too. It's part of the Ten Commandments, which are eternal. Jesus said, "If ye love Me, keep My commandments." His disciple John wrote many years after the resurrection, "This is the love of God that we keep His commandments." "He that saith I love Him and keepeth not His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him." In the last crisis Satan makes war on commandment keepers.

The Sabbath Day is the Seal of the Living GOD and is a Sign between HIM and HIS People forever. This Seal will be used in the soon coming Great Tribulation to distinguish HIS Holy remnant from those that worship the beast and his image. Satan has set his day aside to mark his followers and that day is Sunday. GOD's Commandment keepers will be tortured and executed for not worshiping the beast on the man made Sabbath, as they keep GOD's Sabbath Day Holy.

@HolySpiritDwells Because you know your Bible well,I thought I would not have to point it out for you in scripture.There is no scriptural back up for you to claim that the Ten Commandments are not to be kept anymore including the 4th.What you said to Theoizbac is to say that Christ came to abolish the law,which HE did not and you know that.To teach people they do not have to keep the Sabbath is to lead them to the slaughter.If they disregard that Commandment they will do so again in the G.Trib.

Hi Bro, obeying the commandments of God is not 'works', rather, a labour of love.
Matthew 24:20 has Yeshua telling His disciples to pray ( that when the abomination of desolation takes place, as per Daniel's prophecy) which also signifies the nearing of the return of the Lord, that their flight away from Judaea should not take place on the sabbath day. Yeshua knows that His followers will be obeying the commandments. Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14 (way after His ascension)

Here is where the confusion is; What was "passing", "nailed" to the cross, etc is NOT the commandment s but the "curse". "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." Gal 3:13-- Please read Rev 14:12. this explains that the patience of the saints are the obeying of the commandments and the faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is thru faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Law is the Guide.

I don't get it... if Jesus kept the Sabbath and you mentioned in the perfection video that we must be like Christ, then why this video? Breaking the Sabbath is a sin, but Jesus kept the Sabbath (Jn 14:15 & Jn 15:10)
Did not John say he was in the Spirit on the LORD'S DAY? (Rev 1:10). As you can see there is a specific day for God's Holy Day. What God's Holy Day is very clear in Scripture Isa 58:13-14, Mt 12:8, Mk 2:27-28, Lk 6:5, Ex 20:10-11, Gn 2:1-3.
Also Col. is talking about feast days

@Theoizbac , When Christ was alive the law of Moses was still being kept. The church started in Acts...We fulfill the Sabbath through obedience daily as explained in Heb. 3 & 4. I will pm you a Sabbath video & you tell me what you think about it.
In Col, it say,"or of the Sabbath"....(days) is written in italics and verse 17 says which are a "shadow" of things to come, But the body is of Christ...I will pm you later in more depth, God Bless.
