I understand that everyone has his opinions and tastes of this or that drummer, but I do not understand is that comparisons arise! I'm a fan of John Bonham and is not better nor worse than Thomas, is different, we must agree that marked an era and was very good and imitated in rock. I think the most important influence in Thomas is Chris"Daddy"Dave shot at full power with the essence of the changes of paces, the musicians who accompany him make an effort not to lose the tempo. @Stvst29 No, I would have to say that it's not completely dependent on head choice; although the head choice does affect it to a fairly high degree, just not 100% like jayhawksrock555 suggested. To me, this snare sounds like it is tuned tight to very tight on the resonant/snare side/bottom head, and medium to tight on the batter/top head. Try that man, and happy drumming.

What they mean is that, generally, a drummer might try to emulate a drum sound off of an album, and seeing as how those drum sounds have gone through many processes in order to make them sound great, the sounds are impossible to emulate. With that understood, a drummer, such as myself can only try and get the best possible sound out of their set.

Thomas Pridgen might as well reside in a different dimension entirely and his existence simply has no effect on Barker's. Yeah, I agree with bmpsound4, it's Modern Drummer and it's not so much about the group. However the drummers that utilize the group, like Jojo Mayer, when they play there are usually the better ones to watch IMO. @bmpsound4, he played better with Mars Volta when i saw him, was amazing, Mars Volta are hit and miss though so i'm not sure of the videos on here.
