I filmed this is in Chicago. It was a free lunch from the Mix. O.A.R. perfomed at Northerly Island that evening which was recorded for their live disk.
I loved these guys back in the day. Then they kind of changed slightly. Saw them at Bogarts in 2002, one of the best shows ever. They then came out with a new album and played at HOB Orlando and one of the worst shows ever. Solos took too long, songs completely changed. I can't hear them play their classics the way they used to, like drunk college kids.
I guess it's good for them, but don't change the classics to the newer style. Keep them seperate as they both are good.
And I agree, the new sound to the classics is missing something... kinda like Alanis Morissette's 10th anniversary of jagged little pill, was nice but its just not quite right.
@TimSchwall8 Not sure what you mean ... have you listened to "rain or shine" recorded during their Northerly Isle show in Chicago? They played an equal mix of classics as well as new album material, and it was all amazing. Don't hate on a band for changing and becoming more mature.
I love how they have such personality. I can't get enough of them. Screw the radio. I love that they've gotten more success last few years. Jerks in charge of radios don't even deserve these guys.
I never heard of these guys until like a couple years ago, and I always thought they were mexicans for some reason, and they sang spanish songs, lol. I never knew they sang this song.
Love that he can stop singing and the crowd can carry it until he comes back in. Awesome sauce!
