This is NOT 2012 coming! The only reason why there seems to be more natural disasters nowadays is because there is more coverage of them in the news than ever before (24 hour news, minute by minute updates). An earthquake hit (happens all the time in Japan). It hit in the ocean = tsunami (exact same thing happened in 2004) then a crack appeared hense the whirlpool (like a kitchen sink). Then earthquake and tsunami damaged power plant (it's probably only designed to withstand earthquakes).

The whirlpool is caused by the inrushing water being trapped and deflected by the harbour walls which this video does not show. Have you never watched water in a river? It's a natural property of fluid mechanics. I'd be more concerned about WHAT triggered the earthquake if I was you.

This is actually not abnormal. The fissure caused by the earthquake event simply is filling up with water.
