Like a lot of people said, it wasn't supposed to be a "good" movie. That and Samuel L Jackson shoots the window so that the plane is ripped open and it sucks out the snakes, but on Mythbusters they proved that doing that would just put a bullet sized hole in the window, and wouldn't accomplish anything.
