Where did you get the idea to put salt on your garden? if your plants aren't doing well, the salt could be the culprit. Don't believe me? Take two identical plants in containers. Put salt in one. It will die.
Ya know...I haven't really calculated the ratio. I sprinkle just a little salt around the base of each plant. I premix the milk with cold water acording to the package directions. My 'maters are happy!! LOL
What is the ratio for the powder milk and epsom salt? Do you mix the two together? How much per plant? Thanks for the info. I want tomatoes like that!!
Not sure if plain ol' white bread will stand up to this kind of abuse, but you should try a BLTECO sometime. It's a BLT, plus one over-easy egg in the center and Monterey Jack melted on one face of the sandwich before assembly. Cut it down the middle so the yolk runs out for mopping and enjoy. It'll probably harden your arteries just looking at it, but it's pretty tasty. (Oh - the O in the BLTECO is for onion - I like a thin slice of red onion on mine - my wife hates it)
Thank you. My tomatoes are not doing so well now though! The hot days and cooler nights of Florida are an enemy to my tomato plants. Hopefully, I can get more tomatoes in the cooler monthes.
Drooooooool! Great now I have to have BLT's for dinner, lol. A shame though, none of my tomatoes are ripe at the moment, so I'll just have my husband bring some home (he manages a restaurant, so we get them for free). So, are those heirlooms? What do you fertilize with??
I fertilize with powdered milk and epsom salt. I was using some Miracle Grow but I think it made my tomato plants "drop" their blooms. I have very few, if any, tomatoes now because this Florida sun is just too hot. The tomato I used for this sandwich was a Beefesteak.
I like adding fresh basil and avacado to my blts....mmmm drool

@5hocke12 I was just experimenting so I am not sure how much of each! Just a few tablespoons maybe...
