We're truly in the culture of celebrity, & entities like MTV & Rolling Stone dictate what is or what isn't cool, hip or good & what we should like. There's some great music but it takes work to find it. Cat Power, Sarah Hickman, Foo Fighters, Incognito, Band of Heathens, Mak Tub are all good & do their own thing. But Joe's always been a true artist constantly honing his craft & a fantastic lyracist to boot. Laugh out loud funny or melencholy & poignant. for 39yrs Joe's been my favorite.
@lionfl007 Joe is the Perfect place to begin!!! Love him and more than that---he is fuckin WITTY and smart, top 3 guitarinfluences on me are#1 Joe Walsh #2 Jimmy Page #3EVH (and i dont tap, but for pich harmonics) Ed, playing on his Explorer(shark after he went gaga on it)has no tremelo but listen to the leads on WCF 1980 ,thats fingers man!! Just like Joe SREAMS and bends so high with his hands(at LEAST the size of Jimi's)totally controlls the axe. and SOOOOO Tastefull!!!
Most people dont know that the studio track was originally recorded in 1973...was intended for the Smoker You Drink LP, but was shelved until 1981...after which only a few overdubs were added from the original recording. Kenny Passerelli played the horns on studio track...according to Walsh "in a drunken stupor".
once again, I go to the video of a great song as see that there are only a few views, yet groups like jonas bros, other pop groups, emo, and other shit has way too many views, what is wrong with this society
@wayneallenayers getting old has nothing to do with it. What is has to do with is the fake music that is being put out there today. When you have to put Auto Tune on a rap, there is a HUGE problem. Today's music is crap. Period. A rare few exceptions to the rule, but the majority is CRAP.
@cabby26 Simple minds like simple lyrics. Deep thinkers need more complex thoughts, such as Joe Walsh, Rush, Mike Muir offer in abundance. There are those of enlightenment, perception, growth - and there are people worried about their emotions, hair color and herd mentality. Our Gov and Xianity encourage group think, lowest common denominator, respect peoples 'feelings' bullshit. Ultra Lib, Spiritualist [Atheist] and Gold Start Son.
Great version! His slide is sharp and the drums propulsive and exciting (some great, dry fills interspersed during the main riff). Frankly I never liked the horns in the original, so this is superior.
It does'nt get any better>>>

@Apocalypse411 very well said, I especially love the comment about the Government. They want the masses to be mindless drooling herds of idiots.
