if u use any of the adobe products:1.-open and import files into the adobe after effects.
2.- make new solid layer-pick mask drawing tool(pen) and draw a mask (be sure that the mask tool in front of the original footage)
3.- than toggle switches/mods and use (use mask tool for footage like "luma mask...or smt) ...well i guess u understand couse my languge is not the best...

this is good i have made a robot like this in blender and it had taken me like days to rig it just right so think how long this has taken to rig

Actually, did not take long. I rigged it using 3dsMax..the Biped function.
You should try it. Easy and simple.
The animation was a Motion Capture I downloaded.

yes I rigged it using Biped in 3dsMax...then, I used a Motion Capture file for the walk. Easier than spending hours animating it for a short sequence
