Men are to be the head of the house - GODLY heads of the house. MEN ARE TO LOVE THEIR WIVES LIKE JESUS LOVES THE CHURCH. i.e. sacrificially and unconditionally.

Women are to be subject to and submit to their husbands.

By doing this (ie. practising what the bible teaches) married couples are supposed to show the submission in the trinity - that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are equal but different and submit to eachother and that Jesus submitted to the father by doing his will on the cross.

Driscoll isn't emergent, he's emerging. He seperated himself from the liberal emergent group who questions essential, key elements of the Christian faith.
