@BayAreaLen yeah, I've been wanting to "check out" of planet Earth for at least 30 years now. It's so tough, but I'm glad I'm older because I got to live a bit in the 1970's -- before it all went to shit for the middle class.
But I'm doing strange things, that I never thought I would do before. Like thinking about what happens after death. And, I'm not saying because I think suicide is a good idea -- quite the opposite.
@greatbroad This video really made me think about why we are suffering so. But it is very weird and I don't want you to think I'm nuts. But at the risk that you will, sometime check out this video on my "favorites" I put there the other day. About a voice after death. He says:
"trying something -- of this world -- to change the world," doesn't work.
So, if you can get past the first 30 weird seconds, this guy who killed himself shares a bit of wisdom w/others who suffer.
@greatbroad Yes, it was a bit difficult to follow, but any words of wisdom from the trenches in this life, speak miles over fabricated nonsense that we call "news" these days.
@DanaDurnford Thanks, Dana. Coming from you, I cherish the compliment.
The story behind the sign is that I was alerted to a meeting by a moveon(dot)org email and assumed there would also be a rally. It was at an Aurora library, (2nd largest city in IL, btw) so I made my SS sign and came over, ready-to-rumble @ said meeting. To my great astonishment, it was a "classroom" activity about Social Security, and my sign wasn't needed at the moment.
Just like George Carlin said, they're coming after your social security money, and they'll get it.
The "owners" of this place pretty much have a lock on the future of humanity, unless millions of people take to the streets in chaos.

So, I rumbled in letter and vid, instead.
