Absolutely beautiful, almost a lullabye for adults. Wonderfully simple, folky... Mike, i've been listening to your music since I discovered it as an 11 year old stuck up in my bedroom... and I've been enjoying your art since. Thanks for posting :)
I had forgotten all about his song, last time I heard it must have been 20 years ago at least. A very touching song.
It used to be one of my favourites. My 6 year old is walking around singing it now. I am learning to play it on my guitar and it's not very easy as I am just a beginner.
Such an amazing song. My dad played it for me as a child and I sang it to my own children as babies. It never fails to bring a happy tear to my eye. :o)
@Canaveral305 You propably have it already, but if not please search for Sallyangie album Children of The Sun. It features a fair amount of 15 years old Mike singing
An eternal song that can make you either laugh or cry dependant on your mood. Something about it reminds me of my childhood, and it has an almost comforting melody saying "It's ok..things will be alright".Great tune.Mike you are a master of your art ! ;-)
Makes me think of the pastoral idyll that England surely never was, but then maybe we can make it that somehow one day. Stargazy on Zummerdown and all that.
the only song that guarantees tears welling up in my eyes...
absolutely moving, and eternally beautiful.
thanks so very much for posting.

He reminds me of Brian Eno a little bit.

Mike's voice kinda sound like John Entwistle's voice, only with a different accent... he could have been a rather good singer, if he wanted to.

@konked I don't have the whole album, but listened to some of the songs... I definitively think Mike is not a bad singer.

Destined to be a classic, if it isn't already. This is one of my all-time faves, and I'm learning to play it on harp & pennywhistle.

This reminds me of a dear friend who died of MND, he would often hum this tune in a rather joking manner. God bless you Ray. John.
