  • So- Luka and Rin is a westerner? Because their outfits are not Japanese-like in the PV. :P

  • @MrHorst95 That's Miku

  • *lifts Hand*

    got a Question!

who is the woman in black with the red tie?

  • My Japanese students recommended this song to me (a westerner). Now I'm insecure about whether or not they hate me.

  • @notxactlyluki no, I think they might just wanted to warn you not to disturb them.. I think..

  • I couldn't tell that was luka since her hair was dark

  • Guess what was just released on iTunes~! :DDDDDDDD

  • 0:53 - "ukiyo no manima ni" Mistrans, I didn't know what the phrase meant. Should be "overcoming the dark of society".

    "ukiyo no manima ni"

I think, it means "Go with the flow ".

    本家のページからきますたwwwww

  • @kagoshimamikai そうですか。ありがとう!

  • @puddizzlez You're welcome^^

    Nice translating!

    And good job!

    良い翻訳ですね 動画の説明も詳しくて好感を持ちました。

    bye

  • dude, just put the credits here, there's a reason were not there, its all Japanese. it be much better if you just put the name and who its by here. just saying.

  • thumbs up! ^^

  • kinda reminds me of a touhou song

  • The intro like ragnarok "pusrity of your smile" I think.

  • Kurousa-P always makes brilliant songs.

  • now i want more to go to Japan, the most cultural country in world(US dont count because they always fuck the world(in both ways))

  • BANKAI!

    SENBONZAKURA KAGEYOSHI

  • @meellsonwheels i thumbet you up :)

  • Anyone know any guitar tabs for this song?? If any of you guys find any i will be grateful FOREEEVER and I shall post a vid so pwease???

  • 矛盾骸骨君はどこー?wwwww

  • Reminds me of Gintama :D

  • haha this song reminds me of japan from hetalia 0w0

  • @xXAmaterasuKasumiXx - Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one. This actually made me write a Japan-centric fanfiction. XD

  • Omg the intro is so touhouish haha.

  • THANK YOU! Finally a vid that has a good quality version of this song, all the others are a little fuzzy >.<

  • @puddizzlez Psh, you kidding me? Comic Sans is where it's at, man!

  • @VoodooChild1012 Just because different people translate it doesn't mean one is right or wrong. They're just different interpretations. And for the record, because the direct English translation are changed to fit the beat in a dub, a dub's lyrics aren't as good as a straight translation.

  • All the great animators works on Hastune Miku Vids but they don't bother working on any decent Vocaloids.I'm so upset she get to have all the credit to herself!

  • @deathnation100 Excuse me, but are you calling Miku 'indecent'? People use Miku because they love her. She gets credit because she's popular. You act as if she forced people into using her.

  • Comment removed

  • @rizareiime i agree!(this part is for deathnation100) all vocaloids are great and my favorite is gumi but i still love all of the vocaloids, and i'm sure that everyone else has these types of emotions!(this part was for deathnation100) :3

  • reminds me of Otome no Zakuro or something like that, i believe; ;

  • im allergic to flowers... TMT love the song though <3

  • 3:54

OMG! i want that in plushie version!

  • Now only if i could sing along with the lyrics that appear too late to sing xD

  • my favorite song !!!!

  • Me and my friend are thinking that the song is about the time just before WW2 ended, because during that time, thousands of students and even children(played by Rin most probably) volunteered for the army due to the loyalty to their country, thus the 'sen' as in thousand. The 'sakura' stands for their lives, because they died quickly since they were not trained properly, and that sakuras have a very short lifespan and die easily. Anyone else agree?

  • @74animelover well my intepretation is quite different though still have "Sakura" here. In the old Japanese folklore, Sakura blooms because of eating a corpse and there's so many people died during the westernization of Japan start from "Black Ship Incident", enough to make one thousand of sakuras bloom.

    well just my intepretation though

  • Everyone forgets about sweet Ann (me included) *guilty face*

  • @HayleyCassadeeAlex Well you see. That's because there were no vocaloids before miku. :P Leon, Lola, Miriam, and Sweet Ann don't count XD And Meiko and Kaitou evolved into vocaloid 2. So it's like they were never Vocaloid 1 to begin with. *whistles innocnetly*

  • @Shadowcast577 Meiko and Kaito were never vocaloid 2 and never will be

  • @Shadowcast577 Are you a natural retard or is the sarcasm going over my head?

  • @MrElbowsmash The sarcasm is going way over your head. So I guess that makes you the idiot huh? By far that's the most stupid and unproductive response to a comment I've ever seen. And that's coming from a guy who's seen peoples response be Oh yeah, well fuck you. So thank you for your brilliant input, that I'm going to ignore and flush into the toilet.

  • @ohyesbenny (in series two)

  • @ohyesbenny yeah, what I meant was she was the first Japanese one.

  • @ohyesbenny

Omygawd, I feel like such an idiot, I'm a really big vocaloid fan and I knew that, I was just confusing myself because I know that what I said is what alot of people think, should Have been more careful with what I said. Thanks for correcting me :)

  • How do you download videos from nico nico douga?

  • does anyone know what the thing Miku's holding called ?

    at 0:33 ..?

  • @hik199 I think that's a Gohei.

  • byakuya!!!

  • It's a song about The Great Kanto earthquake (1923)

as with the time Japanese are in dispair

We are in an iron prison or in front of guillotine, but get up again!

    It's a song like this

  • A fantastic song with terrible story.

    Fast and great

And with Hatsune Miku it is the best

  • not very good translation. look up for the translation by atashi.wordpress its way more accurate then lots of translations u can find on the net.

  • @oOoOoAToOoOo lolwut? Since when did I try to take ownership of the song? I explicitly said that the only thing I own are the KFX and the translation.

  • @puddizzlez Ic, sorry about that! I gotta read first next time!

  • The song meaning is in the description people.

  • @YuukiDesuMahouHime

What do you mean it 'was' great? I was under the impression that this was the original song. Read the description for interpretation of meaning.

  • @miramask well yeah, but I watched other version of this song too, because I didnt really understand, I knew it was about WWII, but someone say that Miku have sex with people in her village and stuff...

And it was not to me, because Miku sing it so flat ._." It better if Miku sing more strong

  • @YuukiDesuMahouHime

If you want her to sing 'more strong' maybe request a version with her solid append from a good Vocaloid user that you know. If someone said that this song is about sex, they REALLY need to work on their Japanese.

  • BYAKUYA! ♥ :D

  • @sarealuna: Yay! I'm not the only one who came here because of Bleach! :D

  • This should be the new Japanese national hymn ^_^

  • Byakuya: Scatter

  • What is the meaning?? Dx

  • @aviona123 I think its about Child soldiers. Not sure tho.

  • @aviona123

This song critisize the Japanese gavernment and media.

This say "Nowday, Japanese government become slave of US and media comeplete controll imformation . So we ,now is the time, need gain democracy"

  • 戰國無双 is really hard to translate...

  • @Stalkers0703 If I were to say, it means "Unrivaled Warring Country", but its interpretation can change depending on the context. Since this song has such a complex setting, it's hard to say, at least from my perspective as a foreigner, what the Japanese see this phrase as. But I guess we can take it as a general longing for the romance of warring states era

  • @remakerealm To be fair, the literal translation is "Unrivaled Warring States".

  • why is there no LOVE button?

  • great song and video! just thought I'd point out that the "one" tattoo on Miku's back is because she is the first vocaloid in series two. If you've seen any pictures of her she always has a red 01 on her left shoulder

  • @puddizzlez and, that is all.

  • @HayleyCassadeeAlex You don't say!

  • @HayleyCassadeeAlex actually, the first vocaloid of vocaloid2 was Sweet Ann, but Miku was the first Japanese vocaloid in vocaloid2 so i can see how that tricks people :L

  • @HayleyCassadeeAlex Sweet Ann was the first VOCALOID2.

  • @HayleyCassadeeAlex: *sign* An another person who make this common mistake: Hatsune Miku is NOT the first Vocaloid in series 2, she is only 1st of Cryption Future Media's (Company who made Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len & Megurine Luka) Vocaloid-2 avatar series.

Hatsune Miku is the 2nd Vocaloid in series 2, but it is true that she is the first Japanese Vocaloid-2.

  • @HayleyCassadeeAlex She isn't the first version 2 Sweet ann is but she is the first Japanese version 2

  • at first i thought it was senbonzakura the bankai from bleach and i watched thevideo and im like.....this isnt bleach, this is AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • @FilipinoBleachCandy8: Hahaha! Me, too! I kept expecting Byakuya to pop up in the video and go, "Scatter."

  • @xSisterxGrimmx i searched for the song and i put "Senbonzakura" then all i see was byakuya and bleach..and then i said "NOW WHERES THE SONG???" gosh it confused me soooo much xD

  • @FilipinoBleachCandy8: Hahaha. XD Remember to add Miku. I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one who came here because of Bleach.

  • ...

  • @MrCornholio93 it's awesome ain't it

  • @lmnade199 no

  • @MrCornholio93 yes it is

  • @MrCornholio93 Whats wrong O>O

  • @Ultimatemariolover You spelled ''what's'' wrong.

  • @MrCornholio93 Your point?

  • @Ultimatemariolover The proof is in the pudding, dawg.

  • Watch this video with one eye closed. You can enjoy pseudo-3D effect!

  • I think you translated this pretty well except one phrase "Ukiyo no manima ni" as someone mentioned.

    Good work, man!

  • Nice video ^^ amazing.. :0

  • I'm not sure how I feel about lyrics that glorify pre-WWII Empire of Japan, but the song is so catchy that it's hard for me to care too much.

  • @MrElbowsmash

I too would be appalled if this song glorified Japanese Imperialism, but I don't think this is what the song is about. I completely agree that this song romanticizes certain aspects of Japanese culture and history; the title derivative of the play, and the character outfits have a archaic feel to it. I believe that the song is talking about the consequences of westernization rather than urging a return to the past. I might be reading too much into it, but...

  • @MrElbowsmash

...Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura, the play which the song's title is derived, is based on the consequences of what happens after the battle of Yashima, which is a prelude to the fall of the Taiga Clan (and their decisive loss at Dan-no-ura), and their bid for the control of Japan. In the play, the titular character, Toshitsune is given a drum named Hatsune (which I think has as link to Miku). I think the song is talking about what the consequences of westernization are...

  • @MrElbowsmash

...in particular, one of darkness, criticizing that the world is full of darkness and that they should all go all out in hysteria, since they (the Japanese) are stuck inside a black-steel cage (think of all the social/economic/political handicaps that the Japanese have), but even so, the youths of today must be strong, and ultimately make this a happy ending, like it was in the play (Yoshitsune kills all his enemies).

  • @MrElbowsmash

So tl;dr, I think it's a song about Japanese nationalism, and that they should go kill off all their enemies in order to achieve the happy ending. Japan is a 'peaceful nation' because it can't have an army; it has ICBM's which 'dispels evil'. It might very well have anti-western sentimentalism, but I don't think it's a song about the glorification of Imperial Japan.

  • Beautiful song, and an amazing sub. Thank you!! Arigato!! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

  • Thanks a lot for to this very well done subbing, Kurousa's song deserved it.

BTW the original reached 1M views on NND

  • @KungFooKiDX Rayguns: 2 Haters: 0

  • 2 people who dislike this got shot down by the Vocaloid character's raygun :3

  • ah dude... you shouldnt allow more than 2 video answers per video... otherwise the older ones will get practically non-existent (because people usually are too lazy for clicking on "show all" xD)

Its ok, I'll look for another video then.... mhh....

  • @Seiryuudo Relying on other people's viewership instead of your own video's inherent allure isn't good, bro.

  • @puddizzlez its more boosting than relying ;p

They're not my own videos, but still unique and worth to be seen. Without tons of subscribers or pesting people with tons of subscribers to upload those videos, there not much of a choice to get the peoples attention.

Senbonzakura is one of the few songs people really search after, but lots of other good works just fall into oblivion. Thats a shame, isnt it? Whatever, dont use more than 2 answers though. Its the same as deleting the older one.

  • @Seiryuudo I'll do what I want with my videos.

  • @puddizzlez than at least say something like "ay bro, I just made your answer invisible, be aware". I just noticed that by chance >.>

Thanks for the time it was visible though.

  • @puddizzlez Not your video, u just re-post it! ...And?

  • @oOoOoAToOoOo

    Woah interesting name.

There are heaps of reposts and he/she never said it was theirs. they only said the kfx was his/hers.

  • @ilikebleach02 ^^ LOL!

  • Where's Gakupo? He should be the overlord or shogun or something...

  • I LUV THIS SONG! So amazing, me like

  • Art belong to the world as a whole, and the barriers of nationality vanish before it. what I want to say is that every countries people would kneel at front of beautiful Miku.

  • this song is so epic... i posted it on my wall as soon as i heard it

  • Making story out of the video

    -Luka: An octopus and familiar

-Meiko: One of high class Geisha

-Kaito: A veteran warrior, now rank officer

-Rin: A shopkeeper to special shop

-Len: A new warrior, Rin sibling

-Miku: The only GIRL that become special warrior

    -Luka: Evil-officer-boss???

  • FUCK!!! MY RAYGUN AIN'T WORKING!!!!!

  • it kind looks like Hakuoki to me

it about the same periods i think

    ~

ISooooo LOve This song thaqq for subbing :3

    Loveeeuu~ <3

  • OH AM GEE I FINALLY FOUND IT WITH ENGLISH SUBS. I AM NOW THE HAPPIEST GIRL ON EARTH, THANKYOUSOMUCHHHHH

  • This is just a speculation I've made, but I'm wondering why is blossom spelled "zakura" instead of "sakura" in Japanese? I've seen this plenty of times, but I never asked (until now that is XD).

  • @ChaosFantasy9x Sakura, or 桜, is the way you spell it if it's by itself or at the beginning of a term - however, if it's at the end of a term, like 夜桜 (yozakura, sakura at night), 美女桜 (bijozakura, faded beauty), or 秋桜 (akizakura, cosmos (the flower)), then it's spelled as zakura. Likewise, 千本桜 is read as senbonzakura instead of senbonsakura, since the 桜 comes at the end.

  • I'm so happy to have found one with english translations! Now I know why they have such a strange, albeit intriguing combination of traditional japanese and western themes!

  • Great translation! Well adapted to English. Do you have any idea were I could get the VSQ?

  • @Avaronism I don't believe 黒うさ gives out his VSQs, though you can try to grab it from one of the various alternate covers.

  • its remind me of byakuya's Zanpakuto

    ^^

  • @Sakadayumi That was EXACTLY what I was thinking. Especially with the guillotine references.

  • @Mike199ify

Most schools in my area do :D Anime pretty popular in the bay

  • 这老外能明白吗??

can the western ppl really understand??

  • @leo886leo 老外也有历史课的。 >->

  • if they ever made Ouendan 3, this song better be on there

  • WAIT WAIT I LISTENED TO THIS MORE AND GOT IT STUCK IN MY HEAD.

    Anyone got a download? ~ :3

  • Sounds very Touhou~

  • @Iemanonymous1 Thats what i thought =w=

  • @Iemanonymous1 omg, you're right! I felt a touhou rush when i heard that!

  • I regret listening to this at one in the morning. Now the tune is stuck in my head and I can't get any sleep.

  • @Greymetaphor That's what happens when you listen to this song.

  • @puddizzlez wwwww I guess so.

  • @Greymetaphor yup, Screwed for school tommorow, actually Later as well.

  • @Greymetaphor yup, Screwed for school tomorrow, actually later as well.

  • Watch this video with one-eye.

You can enjoy pseudo 3D effect.

  • @yuzotasaki HAHAHA xD It kinda works =3= Awesomeee <3

  • was this made by the same people as alice of human sacrifice? cause the characters look almost identical

  • @TeamOblivionXD Other than all them being Vocaloids, I see no resemblance tbh. XD

  • @TeamOblivionXD Lol? Ofc....they're the representations of the synthesizers used to make both of the songs..and like...the other few gazillion vocaloid songs out there.

  • @TeamOblivionXD Both songs have the same producer, if that's what you're asking. In my opinion, it is the team behind these songs that are the real "idols" of Vocaloid.

  • @Greymetaphor I agree. It's hard to separate the "performer" from the "artists", since we are looking at an entirely new model for musical production, and the language falls short.

  • Will you mind if I sang this with your lyrics? I will credit you ^_^

  • @IIHeadphoneIIYashaII Go ahead, but I suggest that you tweak the translation around a bit to make it singable. If you need my help on that, send me a message on youtube.

  • @puddizzlez thank you :] Yeah, I'll tweak a little bit but most of it is singable ^_^b But if I have a problem I will ask but thanks for the permission!! :D

  • Love this song so much but I still don't understand the lyrics even if it's translated orz.

(or maybe the pv's too pretty for me to concentrate & understand the lyrics x_x)

  • First saw this video at lunch at my school's anime club! Its so cool if you watch it on the big screen!

  • @kataradish your school has anime club? I envy you so much 8D

  • @Mike199ify yeah, my school does too... we're going to the Kawaii Kon next year... just fyi. :D

  • This song is like all over nico lol

  • this deserves more views :D

  • @Mike199ify ikr?!?! freaking amazing song<3

  • Puddizzlez>
