I have quaker and she was a year when I got her and she Loves being around my whole family and I read they are a one person bird!Is that true!P.S.She likes me more because I am the owner of her.
@Nasaplt if you want a quaker i would suggest adopting one as a baby and not getting one from a pet store i adopted nibbles and he is so much more tame and gentle then my other quaker i got from pet depot and i would suggest only getting attached to one since they are very jealous and territoral birds yea it might seem nice to get him a friend but in all reality he just wants you there..no one else to share you with!
hi recommend taking it step by step. a good thing to do is to get a stick or perch and put it near him if he looks at it immediatley praise him or give him a treat which is better, and then he will realise he fets a treat and more praise whenever he gets close to the stick and then eventually he will get on it then take him out and then do the same thing but with ur hand =)
@MissWLBK if you are stressed that could be the reason why! my older quaker does the same thing when i spend time with him when im in a shitty mood they can read you very well!
Why is your Quaker in the bathroom?? Quakers are know for drowning by accident in toilets. Take him out ASAP. He needs to be around people 99% of the time. Like in a common area. That is very dangerous to have him in there.
ACK!! close the lid! My bird takes showers with me. One day he got spooked while waiting on his t-stand on the counter and he flew off - then landed in the toilet. I was terrified he went head first. At least there wasn't anything in the bowl. I washed him good and took him to the vet to make sure he didn't come in contact with any chemicals. He was fine, but our lids are always closed now.
this is so cute, i wonder how you got him to be so cuddly and friendly? I just got a baby blue quaker and a sun conure, i do have some bird experience from when i was young and did much research, got them from an excellent breeder, etc...but biscuit (the quaker, female) is not social and prefers to be on or in her cage. the sun conure is a total socialite though. any tips on how to get her to warm up to human company? thanks :)
ok... this ITS a silly question... but ive never had birds cause i feel guilty having them in cages.. but, this kind of birds ive seen them without cages.. but ¿how do you make them to poop in just one place?
they can be potty trained, but it takes several days of constant positive reinforcement and diligence on your part. You have to know when he's about to poop, then you run him to the spot you want him to learn is his poopy place. When he does his biz, you give him a treat. After a while, the bird will start to recognize he should poop over the paper, or on the T-stand.
Both my birds are mostly poopy trained. They neither one bite me, but if they've been out with me and need to go, they begin nipping. I take them to their cages, they do their number, they get a treat, then we go back to whatever we were doing. Every now and then, there is an accident, but it cleans up easy.
AWWW. I had one too. He was the BEST talker! So smart.

They lay on their backs in submission. They don't really like it.

Gotta love the way everyone has a go at you without knowing anything about the situation.
I'm sure the owner doesn't leave their bird unsupervised in a bathroom, you'd have to be daft.
As the owner said, it was the warmest room in the house at the time and he wasn't in there for any huge amount of time.
Great vid, what a cutie! ^_^
