I use the crashy crashingness that is Windows Movie Maker. I've tried most of the others and I find them unneccessarily complicated - WMM is very basic but that allows you a freedom to experiment that the others dont [I am in the minority amongst editors with that opinion however ; )

WOW. Best Doctor+Master video I've seen, and I've been looking for a long time, so I don't know how this passed me up. Everything about it is brilliant. I love the beginning, which paralleled both the Doctor's and the Master's human lives. The ending, which reflected the Doctor's pain and anguish, was also amazing. Plus, I looooooove the glimpses here and there of Nine. Overall, fantastic, emotional, extremely well-executed video. Love it though and through.

you've really understood how the song relates to the plot. in the first verse it's all subliminal, with the master's conscience ticking away inside the professor's head. then when the guitar comes in the master takes over and the paradox machine opens up the sky. then the second verse is about Martha's quest and the master's downfall. the chorus is about his death and the verse at the end is about how much pain it causes the doctor as it brings back old demons like the time war and losing Rose.

You know that would make a great storyline. The Doctor having a son that he made look into the vortex. Trying to get him to follow in his footsteps and it having a negative effect. Or maybe it was something mandatory that all children had to do and he wasn't for it the next time around. This could be a good way to explain why he left with Susan maybe he didn't want to make that mistake with his granddaughter

I love how you showed how very similar the Doctor and the Master are. Destruction and death follow them wherever they go, they both have that "Oncoming Storm" aspect to their personality. The only reason the Doctor is 'good' and the Master is 'bad' is because the Doctor tries to be good. And that makes all the difference.

I completely love your fast motion style of editing, it makes me want to watch this video a dozen times.

Pertaining to your question: there wasn't much background music for the scene I used from the Christmas Invasion, so it was pretty easy to filter out all background noise. But I've had the some problems with Murray Gold music. I use a program called WavePad and it works pretty well for filter other noise out and combining audio, but it can't separate vocals from background music. Sorry :(
