in this age of technologies , why can't somone design a system that * in the case of an accident like this one * . the flag man would Push a Button and a BRIGHT FLASHING YELLOW LIGHT be seen in each Car in the race . i mean these cars have all types of Compter equipment onboard , i just know a simple Light System could be installed to each car Alerting Every Driver that a FULL COARSE CAUTION is in place , field frozen until race resumes.
some piss poor marshalling for them cars to be comming to that scene at such speed, should have been some serious double yellow flags corners before this so they at least halve their speed and go through single file
man, makes u want to be a racecar driver and an unpaid marshall back in the 80's. I went through a horseshit deal like this in karts and it was my last race...lol.
Holy shit , he'd have been killed instantly if any of those other cars had hit, Dalmas must have been sitting in that wreckage saying a prayer and preparing himself for death.
Incredible they didn't red flag in those days. And looked like nobody lifted for the yellow!

@fistysticks they do. Each steering wheel has 2 LED displays that alert the driver of a caution, stoppage, penalty or other flagman signals

At 21 seconds (and again at 1:12 with relevant commentary) an example of why cameramen should learn NOT to zoom.

Damn, the corner workers didn't have their coffee that day. Those cars were zooming through there.
