@voodooCGS, a few days ago, i got my phone unlocked to tmobile. 1 week ago, i had the same problem as you. of course this will erase all content on your iphone:

push sleep and home button. don't release the buttons, wait 10 sec after second apple logo, and release only the sleep button. you're iphone will start in restore mode. so you can restore with itunes.

then repeat every step in this video(but first get cydia and redsn0w) and make sure you do EXACTLY what he says

so ive done everything suggested in the video but after the 1st boot the 2nd reboot wont reboot it just cycles off and back on and it repeats itself. iphone 3g 4.2.1 on 6.15 baseband. any suggestions would be great. this process was repeated several times and it just wont 2nd reboot. thank you.

It worked for me bro but I had to use the wifi, you need to restore and hactivate your phone, just search for ianfresno channel, I have one of his videos on my channel, then go on cydia and search for ultrsn0w

I got the same problem man, I had to restore 3.1.3 and jailbrak it and now I am looking on a way to unlock it! I know that there is was a to downgrade the baseband with fuzzyband from cydia. I'll give it a try

@lukam1990 Check your baseband version. There is a corresponding Ultrasn0w .DEB files for a given baseband. I encountered the same problem. Then I rechecked my baseband version which is 06.15.00. So instead of using Ultrasn0w 0.93 .DEB files, I used Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 which I downloaded, and presto! I was able to unlock my iPhone 3G and got out of the freakin 'searching" problem.

I Jialbroke vrs 4.2.1 using redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc18 which worked but left me with no wifii and sense I have a T-Mobile Sim no phone/data. @AnonOmmus Ignore what you see on your iPhone screen . Put iPhone in DFU mode. Now run Redsnow again. This time just choose this option in Redsnow "Just boot tethered right now". Done.

That didn't work, well it did do something, but it didn't finish. I ended up with the phone locked on the pineapple screen instead of the apple screen. I then went back and tried reinstalling redsn0w and doing it all over but can't seem to get it to rebbot at all now; it always freezes either on the apple or the pineapple? Please help.

@AnonOmmus --- I got stuck too... Then I downgrade to 3.1.3 - JB using Pawnage... Installed ultrasn0w 1.2 + mobilesubstrate.... file into the AutoInstall.... and rebooted 2wice..... and I now have a working Mex Telcel iPhone 3G 16GB originaly from Canada. I STILL DONT HAVE WIFI... I will try the Oven Fix, see if it works ; )
