Why not just copy the looks of SDO? It's abadonware. The engine seems to be functional here but the graphics and UI look like they were rendered in MS Paint.
Well, EA hasn't done a thing with it since they closed it 7 years ago, so it's abandoned, but they still have the rights...and the code. The look and UI can be copied easily enough; the engine's the hard part, and they're certainly using placeholder graphics now.
SD is coming back.. give this game a try ..its coming along quite well.. ill see(pwn) you there.. :)
