She shouldn't have said "you are like kicking both feet out..." because that isn't what you are doing and that's not how to do it- some people achieve the sound like that but it's the wrong technique... Someone is going to kick their feet out and fall on their butt or overcompensate for the forward movement and fall forward... :\
Sara is my favorite online tap teacher. Even my teacher IRL is teaching Sara's stuff in class for some variety. Someday I'll have to visit June Perodi's Dance Studio and say hi! I'll practice my pullbacks to show off for ya. Lol!
In the beginning it is very hard but I also have normal tap les and now I can do it I learn't i in 3 lessons and now it is very easy.. so good luck everyone
Remember you want there to be a time during this step that both off your feet are off the ground. That gives you the lift to be able to bring both of your feet back to get the correct sound.
actually. how you said to do them is the beginner way. soo yeah. if you don't like these videos than. DON'T WATCH THEM AND RUIN IT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ENJOYING THEM. =P
I have a question... My 11 year old daughter just changed dance studios, and they told her that she had learned pull backs wrong... She started flat footed before, and now she is struggling to learn them this way. Which way is correct, or does it just depend on the studio?
i found it easier to do it this way

It kinda looks like a 3 beat wing, but your moving backwords. My dance teacher would call it a backwards three beat wing....
xPinkxIsxPunkx 2 years ago

u r wrong.
when u start pullbacks u start on ur heels and and then pull back. then once u get the hang of that, u go flat footed

If you learn them this way, then it's easy to do them either way. It's not about right or wrong, it's about versatility.

The first time I learned these, luckily I got them right away.
