I remember riding the school bus looking out the window rewinding this song until I got to school! it took seven plays and six rewinds to get to school! I love this era
Nice post... I've been rocking this jam since the album came out and was looking to see if there was an official video for this... feeling that Bomb Squad sound on this one... 2,3 break!
The sample IS "Body Language", cuz I remember he got in trouble 4 using it!! This whole TAPE used to be my shit!! The whole PE/ Bomb Squad sound was the hardest shit out there during that era!!
I hope they get this on itunes. I absolutely loved this CD..Buck Whylin, Back to the Scene of the Bass and Wanna Be Dancin'. I always felt TX and Public Enemy was trying to capture the future sound.
I love this album, soooooooo overlooked.TX was a eal good DJ,I love this song.1991 Trivia:Terminator was sued for $500,000 for one of the samples in this song,it's b/c of him and Biz Markie that rappers have to license and buy samples now!!
Don't forget De La Soul. They were the first ones sued for using a sample. The Turtles sued them for using one of their songs on 3 Feet High and Rising.
This was a tight one though. Too bad it was slept on. Then again a lot of stuff was slept on around this time.
The 1989 debut album by hip-hop combo De La Soul featured an uncredited sample from the Turtles (specifically, the intro to "You Showed Me"), in the song "Transmitting Live from Mars". Kaylan and Volman sued, winning a large settlement, setting a legal precedent, and causing the music industry to begin carefully crediting (and paying royalties for) sampled works on future rap and other recordings.

His was the first that was upheld and turned into a law. His case was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak.

I'm sure that it wasn't the "Body Language" sample from Parliament.
