no masking on the walls? did you not spray the walls first? Decent technique, but how many runs did you have to sand? (starting stopping in middle of the jam, hittin some things five times...)
Thats a pretty big tip.. I use a 2:11 if I am in oils it cuts down on all that over spray. Also, get rid of that four finger spray tech and get a two finger gun.
How you enjoying that high build primer?.. nice to sand isnt it?
Also the doors and windows are closed so you will leave a line where the frame overlaps. I have my own techniques but would love to see more videos to improve my game. Good video
the only doors that open are the center ones and if you notice one was taken out to run the temporary air conditioner unit the other is covered i like to hand brush the doors and windows when ever possible to avoid the lines
no im spraying a laquer undercoat primer over unfinished wood then i will sand the wood smooth then spray first coat of enamel then sand and spray the last coat
That wasn't that fast at all, you cant spray, you wen over the same area twice? Also, you did show how long it took to mask the windows and floor, and that was just the primer, remember to finish it off you still need an undercoat and finish coat, CAN I PLEASE CAN YOU MAKE ANOTHER VIDEO SO WE CAN SEE THE START OF THE PROJECT AND FINISH!
let me give some more info on this video im using a titain 440i airless sprayer with a 312tip the wood is popular and the primer is a laquer under coat that dosent raise the grain in the wood so the heaver the coat the easyer it sands.
hes undercoated 4 architraves and 4 large doors in 4 minutes? thats the lenth of the video, what you can do it in 3 minutes? you'll need a bigger wallet for all that extra money you'll be making, you'd have a whole 20 minutes extra at the end of the day. imagine what you can do with all that time !
you should post a video of yourself and show us "amateurs" how its all done
well if your working on wages (thats $ an hour) then speed is probably the last thing on your mind, but if your working to a quoted price, then speed is probably the 2nd if not the most important thing.
either way, you paint your car with a paint brush, and i'll spray it with an AIRLESS spray, and well see whos looks better and is finished first.
the guys been good enough to put videos up to show us all what hes doing and you rubbish the crap out of him - deadshits
you guys have no idea what pressure hes running on that spray, so how do you know if theres runs everywhere? and you also dont know what filters hes got in the gun.
you cant see any detail in these youtube videos give him a break.
hes not using a cheap gun either if anybody noticed.
it'd take you a lot longer to brush and cut all of that in. Don't lie. Spraying is the way to go, but if you perfer to spend twice the time brushing all those window frames/sills be my guest. You'd spend even more time sanding away your brush strokes or any imperfections you might've achieved while brushing.
Hey pal, If you are skilled with the brush, you wont have to sand runs and drips. Also you don't need to spend all that time taping the crap out of everything. Then you don't need to deal with the sprayer throwing uneven layers and eating up way too much paint. Sorry I have worked with sprayers before and nothing but trouble. Look at that ladder its covered with paint. Wtith skill and the brush you can leave the space clean intact and not have to wear that respirator all day.
if you knew what the hell you were talking about you would know that you cant brush a xylene based primers no matter how skilled you think you are they are high build primers are designed to be sprayed, if you happen to get a run ( which is unlikely because they dry so fast ) they sand out easily..
let off the trigger and stop going so heavy blending is the key not stopping in the middle creating a "hack" thats a painting term which is what this guy is
You meant window frames. The windows are covered and taped. Also door frames are being done. He looked pretty good to me. Fast too which is most important.

Irish sprayer here what are enamels?
nutternoonan 3 years ago
a paint that flows out to a smooth coat when applied and that dries with a glossy appearance can be water base or oil base
americanhousepainter 3 years ago
Are you using enamels? If there are no sags or sheen fluctuations I would be impressed.

A quality painter will be fast as well. If the job is taking too long it's either laziness, inexperience or working by the hour rather than the job.
