@rportwar. Yes from factory. But if u put work in them. Then the 1/4 mile is faster with an auto. Launches are much fast with a stall. Faster shifting. Like i said normal driving n the track days once every 3-4 months manual all the way. If ur gonna be going to the track alot. Then autos the way to go.
A muscle car NEEDS a manual gearbox. Otherwise there's no muscle in muscle car. Simple as that. You may cry all you want about "convenience" or "modern times" but the simple fact is that manual transmissions will ALWAYS be better than auto's....because they're driven by passionate people...not soccer moms.

u do realize muscle cars came with automatics as an option right? even the old school GT500 had an automatic. transmission doesnt make a muscle car a muscle car, whats under the hood does.

And it is even worse if you have a Turbo. By the time your Turbo kicks in you have to let off and switch gears again and again. A Supercharged automatic will be far ahead.
Sure Ist gear in manual is a bit quicker. But every thime you shift you have to let off the gas where as the auto does'nt. By the time you hit 2nd the auto has passed you. And if you think you can shift faster than an automatic then you got problems. Take you moded manual car and race a cop car. Then we will see what you think.
big deal its an auto at least he shifts consistently and with a shift kit could probably well. Yes it is more fun to drive manual but at least its not a 94 v6 convertable the guy might use his car in the city alot as a daily driver. 05+ stangs are awsome but not every model blows the older ones away a v6 against an older gt will lose. SVT also does a great job no complaints but alot of people dont like the IRS for drag so there are trade offs give the guy a break
2005+ stangs blow all the past stangs away. Plus it doesnt take a man to drive manual. Ever heard of traffic and big citys? well these are places most people prefer auto. Plus this is 2007.. not 1950.. most people I know only drive stick cause they wanna look cool lol :S

@rmonX BULLSHIT DUDE. I GOT GT WITH A 3400 STALL TORQUE CONVERTER , 3.73 GEARS. LIGHT WEIGHT DRIVESHAFT , MANY MORE THING. AUTOMATIC. AND I HAVE RACED STANDARD TUNED AND LOTS MORE THING ON THERE CAR THAN MINE. AND IM SMOKING THEM AT THE START, AND KEEPING UP AT 30 ROLL. AND THE V8 YEAH.
