I guess it comes down to personal preference, but i think bosses like Necron and Ultimecia are far more effective, especially when they're very subtly hinted at throughout the story, than some white haired prettyboy/crazy clown/armored angry dude we already beat, except this time with wings.

My Absolute favorite final fantasy ganes are 1,7,9,10. The original was just amazing, 7 had some really good music, 9 the battles were fun and Vivi is one of my all time favorite characters and his story is amazing. Final fantasy 10 was a combination of 7 and 9. An exciting and fun game with a great story. A touching love story like 7 with some pretty epic music (Zanarkand). Even Blitzball was fun. Overall I think the company had an excellent run from 7 - 10 but have gone south since.

I think Kuja summoned Necron to destroy the world, so I think he does have something to do with the story (I dunno, I've never played FF9 before, another youtuber told me).

from what i understand, necron came around after kuja destroyed the crystal when you beat him. he says that he is there to return everything to the "zero world" which is what things were before gaias life and memories. so kuja destroys the crystal after ur fight with him, necron comes to remove everything and you stop him. that is how i understand it.

'Fraid not. Necron shows up following your defeat of Kuja as a sort of angel of death trying to return everything to a zero state. Those that have played FFV know that it's a parallel to Neo X-Death, though Necron isn't a version of Kuja.

Yeah I remember back in the day when this was being released in the US. Square said it was supposed to be a throwback to the old final fantasy games. Being a longtime fan of the series, I don't remember the games being full of pseudo furries. The only throwbacks were Vivi and his black mage design, chocobos and airships. I mean WTF IS THIS!
Anyway I liked ff3/6 the best. It has one of the most epic stories and character developments of any of the ff games in my opinion.

juzin just give it up, you have no idea what you're even talking about. And there's not gonna be a FF7 remake for PS3. Square has already said they have absolutely no interest in ever remaking FF7, atleast not on a latest gen console like PS3 because it would cost too much money. The most they will ever do is port it to something like the DS or PSP with some *slightly* buffed graphics.
FF9's system was vastly different when compared with FF8. Look it up on Wikipedia. 8 used the dreaded junction system, whereas 9 used the esper-like ability system. Take a look for yourself.
I know, you really had to be paying attention to know who the hell he was. That was my only problem with the game. They should have made you fight the 4 fiends in sequence before making your way to Deathguise and finally Kuja. Necron just came out of nowhere, and though he is supposed to be the end of all the FF worlds, his backstory and such are just a tad confusing and feel out of place.
err this must be the new versioin which is much easier then the original release... in the us. becuase in the original when he uses grand cross it doess all those status abnormalties and in addition deals 3k-4k dmg to everyone... then right after that he will do neautron ring without giving anyone a chance to recover from grand cross and hit you for 2k-3k dmg... I know this becuase I got pissed off when I couldnt even beat him with gamehsark codes without throwing dark matter at him...

There's only one word to describe that: Amazing. I gotta go play this game now. By the way, I know this might not be the ideal place, but I'd like to ask a small question about Final Fantasy VIII. How far would you say I was in the game if I was on the fourth disc, just got to the Lunatic Pandora and was fighting Adel and do you think that it was no surprise that my 23-19 level characters got completely PWNED by her? Don't ask me how I got there with such low levels because I have no idea.
Ah sorry Imphk I can't give you the answer your looking for. I haven't played the game since it first came out, almost a decade ago. Luckily I still managed to keep my end of the game save file intact for all that time. One thing I do remember though is being a low level in ff8 can work in your favor. With the right GFs and if you manage to draw some really good elements, you can be crazy powerful at such a low level. I suggest checking a guide on gamefaqs dot com.
You haven't played the game in almost a decade? Wow. Anyway, I've always found myself stuck at least once in every Final Fantasy game. In FF1 I got stuck because of my own stupidity, in FF2 I was too weak, in FF3 I haven't gotten stuck yet, in FF4 I got stuck at Baigan (too weak), in FF5 I got stuck at Archeoavis (too weak), in FF6 I AM stuck at the Floating Continent, in FF7 got stuck to some boss (can't remember), in FF8 Adel (too weak), in FF9 some boss (can't remember), in FF10 Seymour Flux.
Haha well it's obvious what your problem is. I guess I would have to say the same thing though, alot of times I find myself under-leveled. I can't recall any FF game where I got stuck because I couldn't find out where to go or what to do. I think the first time I got stuck was way back when FF2/4 came out for the SNES, it took me forever to beat Zeromus cause I was about 10 levels too weak.
Zeromus was a bit tough, I beat him though. Mostly because I had very high levels after leveling in the final caves a while. By the way, you wouldn't happen to know the name of the song that plays in the final battle of this game?
It's simply titled "Last Battle". And it's a score, not a song. A song has lyrics in it. A score is a piece that's entirely instrumental. Get that through your head.
Oh, and by the way, it's my favorite final boss theme alongside Dancing Mad (VI) and One-Winged Angel (VII). Final Fantasies VI~X are my favorites, just hope XIII is just as good.

Vaan wasn't the main character, which is why he shows few leadership qualities or romance. He's little more than a plot device used to help get the story moving. If XII sucks, then why does it have such high review scores? Famitsu even gave it a perfect score, one of only 9 games to get one.
XII doesn't suck, but it is rather weak as an FF title. The story of political intrigue is interesting, and you're right that Vaan isn't actually the main character as that position is more fitting for Basch. It probably would have been a far better game if Vaan was cut out and the story began with Basch being released by Balthier and Fran. Balthier pwned all!!!
But keep the prologue with Reks, and have him survive and join the party as Vaan's replacement. If Vaan would be to appear, we'd have him appear as a very minor supporting character. (Like Kytes.)

Well it was too bad that I hadn't drawn almost any magic and I had never upgraded my weapons, all I did was run from every possible battle and use GFs to defeat bosses. The problem about Adel is that she is attached to Rinoa so it's impossible to damage her with a GF without damaging Rinoa as well, so my chars were hitting 50 on melee and she kept absorbed 500 every time she absorbed HP from Rinoa, whose max HP was 1500~. So 3 turns without healing = game over, but yeah LV doesn't matter.
I also noticed that if a character levels up in the game, the needed EXP for next level is exactly the same as on the last level. You always need only 1000 EXP to level up.

I remember getting to him, almost winning, losing, reloading a save file, and seeing "Data Corrupt" on the save.

FF9's system was vastly different when compared with FF8. Look it up on Wikipedia. 8 used the dreaded junction system, whereas 9 used the esper-like ability system. Take a look for yourself.

I know, you really had to be paying attention to know who the hell he was. That was my only problem with the game. They should have made you fight the 4 fiends in sequence before making your way to Deathguise and finally Kuja. Necron just came out of nowhere, and though he is supposed to be the end of all the FF worlds, his backstory and such are just a tad confusing and feel out of place.

err this must be the new versioin which is much easier then the original release... in the us. becuase in the original when he uses grand cross it doess all those status abnormalties and in addition deals 3k-4k dmg to everyone... then right after that he will do neautron ring without giving anyone a chance to recover from grand cross and hit you for 2k-3k dmg... I know this becuase I got pissed off when I couldnt even beat him with gamehsark codes without throwing dark matter at him...

There's only one word to describe that: Amazing. I gotta go play this game now. By the way, I know this might not be the ideal place, but I'd like to ask a small question about Final Fantasy VIII. How far would you say I was in the game if I was on the fourth disc, just got to the Lunatic Pandora and was fighting Adel and do you think that it was no surprise that my 23-19 level characters got completely PWNED by her? Don't ask me how I got there with such low levels because I have no idea.

Ah sorry Imphk I can't give you the answer your looking for. I haven't played the game since it first came out, almost a decade ago. Luckily I still managed to keep my end of the game save file intact for all that time. One thing I do remember though is being a low level in ff8 can work in your favor. With the right GFs and if you manage to draw some really good elements, you can be crazy powerful at such a low level. I suggest checking a guide on gamefaqs dot com.

You haven't played the game in almost a decade? Wow. Anyway, I've always found myself stuck at least once in every Final Fantasy game. In FF1 I got stuck because of my own stupidity, in FF2 I was too weak, in FF3 I haven't gotten stuck yet, in FF4 I got stuck at Baigan (too weak), in FF5 I got stuck at Archeoavis (too weak), in FF6 I AM stuck at the Floating Continent, in FF7 got stuck to some boss (can't remember), in FF8 Adel (too weak), in FF9 some boss (can't remember), in FF10 Seymour Flux.

Haha well it's obvious what your problem is. I guess I would have to say the same thing though, alot of times I find myself under-leveled. I can't recall any FF game where I got stuck because I couldn't find out where to go or what to do. I think the first time I got stuck was way back when FF2/4 came out for the SNES, it took me forever to beat Zeromus cause I was about 10 levels too weak.

Zeromus was a bit tough, I beat him though. Mostly because I had very high levels after leveling in the final caves a while. By the way, you wouldn't happen to know the name of the song that plays in the final battle of this game?

It's simply titled "Last Battle". And it's a score, not a song. A song has lyrics in it. A score is a piece that's entirely instrumental. Get that through your head.

Oh, and by the way, it's my favorite final boss theme alongside Dancing Mad (VI) and One-Winged Angel (VII). Final Fantasies VI~X are my favorites, just hope XIII is just as good.

Dude, FF XIII is gonna be awesome, I've seen every pic, every vid, everything dude, it's gonna be another 16+ rated game though, guess the FF region is getting a bit violent. I'm just hoping it's gonna be as good as FFVII or FFXII, because those two were the greatest games ever.

I thought FFXII was pretty good, I don't get why people think it was crappy. I mean of course it did use the same monsters over and over and it also was very confusing compared to the other games controls. Other than that, I thought the plot and game itself was pretty epic.

Vaan wasn't the main character, which is why he shows few leadership qualities or romance. He's little more than a plot device used to help get the story moving. If XII sucks, then why does it have such high review scores? Famitsu even gave it a perfect score, one of only 9 games to get one.

XII doesn't suck, but it is rather weak as an FF title. The story of political intrigue is interesting, and you're right that Vaan isn't actually the main character as that position is more fitting for Basch. It probably would have been a far better game if Vaan was cut out and the story began with Basch being released by Balthier and Fran. Balthier pwned all!!!

But keep the prologue with Reks, and have him survive and join the party as Vaan's replacement. If Vaan would be to appear, we'd have him appear as a very minor supporting character. (Like Kytes.)

In FF8 your level doesent matter because the bosses difficulty is tuned to your level, you just need good weps/junctions.

Well it was too bad that I hadn't drawn almost any magic and I had never upgraded my weapons, all I did was run from every possible battle and use GFs to defeat bosses. The problem about Adel is that she is attached to Rinoa so it's impossible to damage her with a GF without damaging Rinoa as well, so my chars were hitting 50 on melee and she kept absorbed 500 every time she absorbed HP from Rinoa, whose max HP was 1500~. So 3 turns without healing = game over, but yeah LV doesn't matter.

I also noticed that if a character levels up in the game, the needed EXP for next level is exactly the same as on the last level. You always need only 1000 EXP to level up.
