  • whys it say fixed when some the lyrics are still off?

  • "We all have chance" lol X)

  • @ReyesX77 lies.

  • "and if theres a god, you better pray, that this sleeping giant, never wakes"

always give me the goosebombs 8D

  • I feel ashamed.... I bought the whole album, and prided myself on knowing every Rise Against song lyric for the past 3 albums... but it looks like my computer F*cked up and didn't get this one.

  • im rlly rlly rlly excited what the next album will be like ....will they go back to t he roots ? or make anther totally NEW album with a sound that we never heard before ? SOO excited ..:D

and im rlly sorry for my 3th comment on endgame songs in like 10 mins XD but i cant help

  • I would just like to thank everybody who's watched this video and I would like to thank everybody that thumbed up my comment because this is the first time I've ever had a top comment. Thank you all. :3

  • This would be so epic live, cannot believe they've just started playing it now! right after their UK tour :(

  • stupid suggestions... they didnt have this video in them so i had to go to my playlist menu

  • Rise Against, predicting the future since 1999.

  • @CameronGTW How is that so?

  • @SuperTigerNo1 I'm just referencing how this song relates to the concerns raised by Occupy Wall Street, with which Tim Mcillrath has voiced solidarity. Just a flippant comment.

  • @CameronGTW

Bad Religion, NoFX and Anti-Flag have actually predicted the future multiple times.

Bad Religion- 21st Century Digital Boy written in the 80s!!!

    NoFX- Perfect Government

Anti-Flag- Bring Out Your Dead ("when politicians become nothing but major corporations, posing as humans, real humans lose")

Rise Against wasn't actually very political until Revolutions Per Minute and then Siren Song of the Counter Culture.

All are great Punk bands though...except Savior is a crock of shit

  • Notice that Obama doesn't plan for the fixing until the ending of his term, and even before, in bush's term near the end, he was going to make change. notice the change, but how it impacted us SO fucking little. He only did a third-half of what he had promised to do.

  • I love how unpatriotic they are :P

  • @AntGull101 What the fuck's to be patriotic about? America has gone down the shitter, and the people are the only ones who can stop the government

  • @AntGull101 questioning your country's politics and pointing your country's faults is patriotic, following blindly and accept everything your government says is not patriotic, its stupid........

  • @AntGull101 HA. Patriotism is standing up for the PEOPLE of this country. not its crooked corrupt ass government. don't be a puppet to Senators and politician's who don't care about you, or anyone else. all they care about is looking good for the next election, not fixing this country.

  • DAMN IT i luv this album :D

  • Rise Against are sellouts and aren't punk anymore?

    Fuck you. :)

  • @Absolution913 Okay your opinion but if they're not punk rock then what are they and how have they sold out?

  • @allagainst1000

I never said they weren't, I was being sarcastic. -.-

  • @Absolution913 sorry I'm really bad at reading sarcasm on youtube, no worries ^_^

  • im wondering, what does "or a just reparation" mean? english is my 2nd language you see

  • @digitalmus For just, think of the concept of justice. Reparation means a payment for damages, such as after a war or in apology towards a group. For example, Native Americans are given reparation for the genocide of their people.

  • @digitalmus A reparation is something you give someone to make up for something bad that you did to them. Like when the US defeated Nazi Germany in WW2, they had to pay for damage they caused us and the rest of Europe.

  • @godopeach90 A little off there that was WWI not 2.

  • @gbb7vc Am I missing something? The Nazi party didn't come to power until 1920, WW1 ended in 1914. It was definitely the second world war that I was referencing although I'm sure Germany gave Europe reparations for that war as well.

  • totally doing an assignment in english with this song

  • BEST PART 2:18 i scream it everytime

  • You Cant See The Dislike Bar :D

  • I can relate this song to the Marxist theory you know :O

  • who dislikes this HONESTLY WHO DISLIKE THIS

    !?!?

  • @thaedster4554 The 1%

  • 2 years ago I discovered RISE AGAINST.

Nowadays I'm still listening to them, and I'll never stop, even for all the gold in the world.

  • Isn't it "In wich access depends on who you know" and not "What it takes, it depends on who you know"?

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, but some parts are still wrong. Its, "While we settle for crumbs" Not "How we settled for crumbs"

  • might by cuz english isn't my native language but i don't understand the meaning of these lines:

Is this an over-reaching arm, or is this compassion?

is this a handout undeserved, or just reparation?

what's the band trying to say here?

can anyone please help me out?

  • @theotheraccount3284 An over-reaching arm is basically someone who is higher than you, like a leader. Compassion is having concern or caring for someone. In this song, Rise Against is saying that a leader is bad and doesn't have compassion.

A handout undeserved is when someone gives you something you feel like you don't deserve because you've done something bad. Reparation is like confessing your sins and doing something to make them okay and good.

    I hope I helped! :)

  • @turtlewithatophat

    it did. thanks

  • @turtlewithatophat I think it's more reflecting the political arguments over whether the government is over-reaching its place/authority in programs which benefit the poor or if they are not doing enough (think of all the debate you hear over things like Medicare and foodstamps).

"Is this an over-reaching arm, or is this compassion" followed immediately by the clarification "is this a *handout* undeserved or a just reparation?" The song suggests it's not over-reaching, rather not far enough.

  • I'm sorry, but any one who supports the current occupy movement is either misinformed or moronic in nature.

  • @EpicallyLegendary

They have some good points: end bailouts, political campaign donations to name two. But there are some idiots amongst them. Where they go wrong and look stupid is how they portray themselves. You can't dress like a hippy and expect to be taken seriously. Dress in your Sunday best, and watch the movement explode more than it already is.

  • @EpicallyLegendary So Rise Against is moronic? Why do you bother listening to them then..

  • @greenchef6 No, the occupy movement is moronic. Rise Against is amazing.

  • @EpicallyLegendary they support occupy though

  • @greenchef6 I couldn't care less if they support it or not. I just like the music.

  • @greenchef6 most musicians/actors are misinformed about politics, and use the movement as a strategy to sell more music/gain more publicity. Considering you're here talking about occupy wall street being related to the music, it appears they've succeeded.

  • @guitarg0d69 Or perhaps you're the one who is misinformed. You must be if support giving Trillions of tax dollars to banks for nothing..I really don't know what the fuck you think occupy is about and why it's bad.

  • @greenchef6 The basic reason we are where we are is because of the very people who are telling the occupiers to occupy in the first place. It's ironic, really. It's a bunch of people saying that capitalism doesn't work. I'm not saying I don't support parts of the movement, as yes, I am one of the 99%. On the other hand, the occupy wall street movement is completely corrupt. People were interviewed on wall street and were asked "If there was a job for you, would you take it?" Most said no..

  • @greenchef6 They said no because they wanted to "end the corruption" yet they're stupid enough to believe that the very people that they're representing in the movement aren't just as if not more corrupt than the banks. 2 trillion in debt, where we were when Bush left, to 15.1 trillion with obama in THREE YEARS! Yet It's Bush's fault? How's it possible to leave someone with thirteen billion $ of expected debt increase? If you have a clue when it comes to math u know at that scale it's impossible.

  • @greenchef6 Also consider the repercussions if the banks were to go out of business. That's OUR money that's intertwined with the banks. So essentially by giving them money we don't lose ours.I wish we could get the money and not the banks, but unfortunately that isn't how it works. We don't get a refund because they go out of business, that isn't how it works. When you put money in the bank,it's essentially investing in the bank like it's a stock. You get an increase in wealth through time,not100%

  • @greenchef6 P.S. I love rise against, but people don't have to agree with their political views to like the music they produce. It's comparing apples and oranges.

  • @guitarg0d69 Not really they sing about a lot political issues in their songs. I find it hard to believe someone could like them if they weren't similar in their views. But w/e not every song is the same.

  • @greenchef6 I respectfully disagree. My views aren't exactly parallel to theirs, and I still like their music. Then again, I guess I sort of agree with it. Meh, I'm not exactly sure where I stand lol I just like how it sounds I guess :p

  • @greenchef6 i agree with all their songs' POV because their Rise Against lol

  • @greenchef6

He's talking about the occupy wall street movement, he likes the music, or he wouldn't have come here.

  • @guitarg0d69 He said "people who support occupy are morons" I replied "Rise Against supports occupy" He said "I don't care about ows I just like their music"

So basically he implied they were morons. I'm wondering why he is listening to their music if he thinks they''re morons. Maybe he just listens to it because he thinks it sounds cool but is to stupid to understand the lyrics.

  • 0:50, I'm pretty sure its "in which access depends on who you know".

  • @thewizdiz same

  • This sounds nothing like Tim Mcilrath. I don't really like that he's completely stopped singing with a punk voice.

  • @JoJ0Studios get over it and enjoy the music -.-

  • @JoJ0Studios If you listen to him live he still has the voice

  • @JoJ0Studios oh noooo he sounds more talented...damn..

  • I dont hate rich people... so long as they work hard to earn it. Sorry, that doesnt include you CEOs, but it does include my friend's mom- who is a cancer doctor working long hours daily.

  • @mitchr1224 First of all, the CEOs that you are referring to are probably less than 1% of those that run businesses. The one's that have all the top percent of America's income have destroyed themselves through greed..and what did Obama do? Oh hey bail them out. NO! Let them crumble. There's such a thing as a business cycle. Businesses are going to fail because they preyed on their clients and it backfired? LET THEM FALL! Stupid government should not mess with the order of capitalism.

  • @KAGbeast I said I didnt like CEOs in the comment. Read the entire thing before you start a fight. Second, letting all of them fall in hte recession would have sent the US into the worst economic crisis ever.

  • Theme song of the 99%

  • Their songs say so much, hope there's someone out there not only to hear them, but also to get the message. Rise Against, ur great!

  • dude I love your videos!!!!!! Keep up the good work :)

  • "And like a single domino; that falls while the rest stay vertical."

    Holy shit.

  • "is this an over-reaching arm?

    or is this compassion?

    is this a handout undeserved?

    or a just reparation?"

Questions we ought to ask the United States government more often than we do.

  • @coltonmusitano something we should ask the whole fucking world... because of greedy shitty leaders theree are wars and nothing get's solved as soon as we need it...

  • @coltonmusitano as far as....?

  • @sunstridingblade A very good question. I believe it's the patriot's duty to question it's government. So I believe that our questioning can never go far enough. We all choose what we want to believe. Your values might be different than mine, but I will stand firm by my beliefs that we can't ever go far enough.

  • OCCUPY EVERYWHERE!

  • @foxxynate I'm occupying my house, does that count?

  • isnt it "we`re fead these empty fairy tales" not fear.

  • @jaejjm24101 *fed. Lol "fead"

  • @WhatTheDuckVids yes my grammer isnt the best, but isnt it fed not fear.

  • isnt it "we`re fead these empty fairy tales" fear.

  • I feel like there should be a movie with all Rise Against music, based off of Rise Against music.

  • @TheKei42 Yo dawg, I heard you like Rise Against.

So we put Rise Against in a Rise Against movie so you can listen to Rise Against while you watch Rise Against

  • @chisuletz Sounds good "dawg."

    Heh.

  • @TheKei42 THAT WOULD BE THE MOST AWESOME MOVIE EVER.

  • @WhatTheDuckVids Mhm. Indeed it would be.

  • @TheKei42 there is... its called Life

  • @runescape1sux But some may argue that life isn't good enough.

  • I'm not sure where you got your source fot the lyrics, but I think there might be a couple corrections still in order (mispellings not withstanding).

With that they dismiss The fast lanes they rode On which access depends On who you know Or where you came from Whose daughter are you? Whose fortunate son? We're told To stick out our thumbs They feast from the linens While we settle for crumbs

Hope this helps if you're still correcting them.

  • stop worring over the dislike button and listen to the music. I mean come on, did you come to this video to post a lame comment on the dislike button, or did you come to listen to the music.

  • I know "overreaching arm" sounds right, but with the word "handout" used after, I think it's actually "overreaching alm".

  • omg the part, AND IF THERES A GOD YOU BETTER PRAY, THAT THIS SLEEPING GIANT NEVER WAKES! made me think

  • i thought it went " if theres a game YOU BETTER PLAY " trolololol

  • "Which that just depends", Not "what it takes it depends"

I could be wrong but im pretty sure thats how it is

  • @Immafishstick I always thought it was 'In which access depends on who you know or where you came from' Then again I could be wrong aswell

  • @punkasfuk Yeah I can hear that too... Hard line to determine haha

  • It's "The fast lanes they rode", not "row". Brilliant song

  • Comment removed

  • 2:17 - 2:30 = favorite part

  • @tranzformerz568 00:00 - 3:49 =my favorite part...

  • 6 people were watching this upside down and mistaken the dislike button for the like bbutton.

  • actually about 1% will dislike not the song but the message cause the 1% are making the rules & benefiting from the lies. Unfortunatly there are those of us living in the slums who believe everyone is against them. Too bad they don't realize that the bottom 80% are being destroyed as they are but because we are being destroyed from the bottom up they are the front runners! We need to unite against the 1% not against each other! violence never changes things, it just alienates people!

  • @endtyrany

    " violence never changes things"

So you would have talked to Hitler and his Nazis instead of fighting back? ; )

  • @0xPUNKROCKx0 Godwin's Law! Don't compare stuff to Nazis or argument invalid. It's a rule on the internet, almost.

  • @0xPUNKROCKx0 Talking to Hitler would have done nothing but alienating him through discussion could have changed his supporters views. Mahatma Gahandi did not need violence nor did Mandela to change their world. I am not saying that non violence is always the answer but most of the time it's the right choice in gaining support and once the sides are choosen then other means may be employed!

  • I'm a conservative-libertarian, yet I love Rise Against. How does that work?

I guess because I'm all for charity, the government is just too corrupt and horribly inefficient at doing it and half the money never gets to the people who need it.

(The stimulus bill spent over $700,000 on a joke machine. Oh, how I hate the system)

  • is it just me or can some of this be holocaust related?

  • i really don't want to do this but there are some mistakes in your lyrics...

0:47 "row" should be "rode", 0:48 "what it takes" should be "in which access depends", 3:34 "we're fear" should be "we're fed"

sorry but i don't like seeing the wrong lyrics... specially when they don't make any sense

  • @MalachioftheForest Saw that too and it's important to the narrative.

  • If this song doesn't speak out against the horrors of the "Free Market" system i don't know what does.

  • 4 people were hypnotized by the power by RISE AGAINST that they saw 2 like buttons

  • 4 people ACCIDENTALLY hit the dislike button

  • 2:30 this moment is epic ; D

  • This song is amazing and so is the message. Just wanted to alert you it's "vertical" not "verticle" sorry for being a spelling nazi. Lol.

  • I didn't just click the like button...I curb-stomped it

    ....

    Rise Against is worth it

  • i love rise against, their message, their music, and their ideals. personally i think tim should try and run for presedent next year. with him as a leader this country could actually see change as opposed to Pres. Obama who has done nothing except bail out corperations destroying the country...

  • 4 people should jump off a building , they dont deserve to live without understanding Rise Against

  • Comment removed

  • 0:55, achievement unlocked!

  • @goldmartijn I realise the xbox 360 reference, but I don't get why it's an achievement?! :D

  • @PaikenPlayer123 Yeah I don't get it either. :S

  • 3 People are haters and prefer justin bieber

  • @Hotspot3500 please never bring up justin. We all know how bad at singing he is. We have all read the comments about how bad he sucks. WE KNOW AND LISTEN TO THE SONG OR GTFO!

  • Is this slowed down or something? I have the song on my computer but its faster.. I don't understand xD

  • @HaleyMedley some early downloads had to be either slowed down or sped up just a tad to avoid copywrite issues :p

  • @HaleyMedley nope the audio file came right off the cd the day it came out

  • @HaleyMedley if you have the radio version its faster

  • @MangoSmoothie16 originals > radio edits

  • @ROFLfusionknife well obviously. radio edits speed songs up so they can get in more commercials. more of those mean more $. they arent sped up much, just 2 or 3 seconds so over 3.5 minutes its not too noticeable.

  • @ROFLfusionknife this song is on the radio???? ive never even heard Satellite before on radio

  • for some reason this song makes me want to play sonic the hedgehog....

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • The most unique band for me ^^

  • its "the fast lanes they rode" just constructive critism no hate

  • Bought tickets to see em in Manchester in November! FUCK YEAH RISE AGAINST

  • @BenGannonGuitar lucky bastard thats when they tour with foo fighters......ehh fuck it we got bad religion so were even

  • 3 dominoes fell while 346 and counting stay vertical.

  • @D1uGun and they fell hard. but if you think about the songs meaning the ones that are still standing are the greedy ceos that screw everybody over in getting jobs

  • I tried to disliek (spelled that wrong on purpose) this just for lulz but my other computer self destructed. I barely made it out alive...I now know that those fools who disliked this are now burning in music hell.

  • Dislike the dislikers. ;)

  • thumbs up if this song gave you the shivers and goosebumps

  • haven't anyone notice that they sound like bad religion? i think its pretty sweet

  • Dislikes are only good for Justin Beiber songs

  • Rise Against insipred me to start playing the guitar :)

  • @no4hh Me too. Excellent music and meaningful songs. :)

  • @firedragonk6 I agree :)

  • @no4hh Same here

  • @daftpunkman65 omfg i love your name 100+ epic points to you

  • see the dislike bar?

    yeah,i don't see it too. ;)

  • @sorawild94 I can name 25 more. And AC/DC really doesn't.

  • I can't tell if they are atheist or kinda religious? Anyway they are awesome and manage to give new perspective..

About the dislikes, they just missed the like button had that problem myself once made me feel bad :(

  • @fightheader

Despite their lyrics that sometimes speak about angels and other christian stuff, they're atheist.

  • @paragonNL Nah they're Agnostic. Big difference.

  • I swear, at the beginning of the song I hear the opening clip that Anti-Flag used in their song "Depleted Uranium is a War Crime."

  • I dont think that this music is one of their best, but cmon it isnt worth a dislike

  • @mestremb9

not their best , but its 1000 times better then 97% of music these days............friggen autotune

  • @joeyhodgeman auto tune has single handedly ruined music,it worked at the start when bands with talent used it but soon we got to the point where 10 year olds hat cant sing to save their life could get a hit platinum and of course since they dont know how music works they just sell out the instant popularity its them

  • the 3 dislikes have been given by rich faggots..

  • I gave this vid the 300th like!!! WOOT~}+@!@

  • A half decent lyrics video. Awesome :)

  • RA should hav there own movie wit all there songs in it :D

  • @nintendawesome It would fail so badly. With that epic-ness playing from the best band known to man, the whole room would explode.

  • "Because there's always been room

by the fire for you!" Best part for me. Just perfect.

  • Dislike is the same as LIKE just with a dis at the beginning (easy mistake to make)

  • for Valhalla!
