Videos like this only damage the nt by raising peoples expectations. The imagery in here in quite misleading, but nt tourism seems to thrive on that. There are many places shown here that you can't visit; aerial shots shown here are not possible for tourists as they are flown well below the level allowed by scenic flights.
Kakadu is a fantastic place but please promote it ethically and responsibly!
Thanks for your feedback, we agree that Kakadu is a fantastic place and at Tourism NT we always strive to promote it ethically and responsibly. To do this, we work closely with the board of management to ensure that we represent the Park within their guidelines.
There are indeed several places in Kakadu that are accessible only by 4WD or a helicopter scenic flight, however whether one wants to take these options as a part of their holiday is entirely up to the traveller.
I love this video....it really highlights the Kakadu area and the beautiful landscape. Something it does not cover is Australia's amazing wildfoods. They have world leading nutrient profiles and are classified as superfoods. Come check out my blog I will be adding loads of information about Australia's Native foods come check it out.
I can't wait until I go on the Kakadu trip with my school in 2011. We're starting in Adelaide going right up the center of Australia, through Kakadu until we reach Darwin. 2 week trip. It's gonna be great!
