I'm really curious to know what album Travis, the bass player, picks up after Chris's solo at 2:40. The other members seem to be really excited about it, and they pull it away just before the camera can get a fix on it....
@chappinger12 That album was 1 of 2 album the Grasshoppers put out. It was the first band Jeremy was in with his Dad, Glen Garret on guitar, Honey Glen on bass, Randy Glen on banjo and sometimes guitar. They broke up after a few years which seemed tragic at the time but cream always rises to the top and came the Stringdusters with Jeremy. The new band members where getting a kick out of ribbing Jeremy about his former band. Glen Garret is an awesome song writer and guitar man. Great album too
Grew up in same small small town as the COBB brothers and LOVEd to watch them play... my aunt was their art teacher in Gradeschool. I LOVE their music!
Iceaxe, I agree they were the headliner at a festival I was at after their second number which was a good 10 mintue long "jam" I couldn't get to my car quick enough.
Man, this is music it ain't NASCAR, and you are allowed to think that more than one band is good. I realize that musical taste is merely an opinion, but you would have to be a bit of an idiot to not see that these fellers are good!!
son you got a problem obviously. old school freight train dont have shit on the stringdusters buddy. these guys are the best bluegrass band i have heard in a long time
They are good my friend but its the same old stuff over and over again. No rhythmic or modal variations. I'd heard all about them "cutting new ground" and found them to be doing different songs and tunes in the exact same way as everybody else. Good "machine gun" chops but not fresh..Yawn
I took your advice and found a clip of your "old School" boys. New and fresh is not always a good thing. I guess beating on the side of a guitar is your kind of thing, but as for me I like PICKING!!!! and these young guns are picking the stuffing out of it. And they sure are getting a lot of air time to be so "boring" yet I had never heard of this other group until today! That tells me something.
Jesse, that transition at 3:40 is soooo nice! Sweet!

I've never seen any banjoist besides me put a piece of paper beneath the fifth string to dampen it slightly. Great minds think alike!

@chappinger12
I think it might possibly be the album Jeremy Garrett put out with his dad a few years back. The name escapes me right now.
