@CaviarDreamer I am a big fan of Nicole and I kinda agree. She just isn't a good pop singer. But it's a different story when she is doing theater or singing soprano and classical though. Her tone and her timbre are just impressive! Search her singing Ave Maria on George Lopez and a video of her called Nicole Scherzinger Singing Opera. It was shot during rehearsals of Dancing With The Stars.

Nice video. I had no idea she could sustain some of the notes she did. Although she seems to be a mezzo soprano like Beyonce and my personal preferences for female vocalists are contraltos and sopranos, this was still nice to watch.

@primohomme you're right...i would say that she's a dramatic soprano...her upper belts are usually quite solid and strong, while her head is light, well connected, bright and has the heights...there's no way she's a contralto...mezzo perhaps, i wouldn't exclude that.

She is so hard working my goodness, she sings like that, high belter, she basically sings 99% of the music for the group (PCD) when on tour and that. She does dance moves which is difficult whilst singing as it effects breathing! I have a lot more respect for her now :)

and in the vid, i think she sustains a really low note; she says "meeeeeee" and towards the end, i can hear like a deep "me" somewhere around 3-39 to 3-41 (you might not hear it cuz of the falsettos).

Anyway, I actually think the girl has a great range. she hits those notes in whistle register with ease and control, I bet she can go higher to a B6 or even a C7. But she doesn't showcase it though.

Wait I am not too familiar with connected head voice. Is that when you bridge or connect the head and chest voice together in one tone? I heard it makes it easier to hit high notes right but difficult to master?

CONNECTED means that it CAN be blended together with chest voice, yes. With falsetto or whistle register, you cannot do that. Notice how in Nicole's warmup, she came down from the head tone back into chest voice...there was no break or discernable change in timbre. That's connectivity.

Nicole is a very good technical singer. Her vocal abilities are just amazing! Her voice though - well it sounds good sometimes but sometimes it just sounds horrible too. Especially when she does that breathy sexy style.
