Back in the 80s, everybody was hopping onto the anime bandwagon and opening up a studio or financing an OVA/series. Nobody cared what the premise of the anime was. They just wanted to produce something and get in on it.

As a result, we got a lot of unrestricted creative Awesome, just like this OVA.

Times have changed. Anime is little more than otaku merchandise advertising now.

Baoh is a personal favorite of mine. 45 minutes of straight up action and a cute little love angle for kicks.

It's cool to see Hirohiko Araki (creator of BAOH) innovating in some areas, the battles in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are the best in any manga (none of "I'LL USE MY MOST POWERFUL ATTACK!!", it's all about strategy).

Try old classics like M.D. Geist, Angel Cop, Mad bull 34 (you can watch it on youtube).

That said i really like these brutal Animes from the 90s. Way better than most of the fanservice crap that comes out today!

gantz is my favourite manga at the moment but the anime was a real let down at the end.i suggest watchin the anime then pickin up on the manga around chapter 90 for the real story too begin :)

ever heard of battle royal highschool...its not the ones that came out recently.Its a 1980's anime. Just as bad ass as BAOH.
