@HankAmericanEngine - The pump on the tank trailer is turned by a power take off (pto) driven by the truck engine. He shut the truck engine down to stop the pto. One gallon of liquid propane turns into 270 gallons of propane vapor.

@camhamiltondotnet I understand that. It clears up a lot, but black exhaust usually comes from a truck starting up.

I work there and that back area is totally different now since then. i feel bad for the family of the man that died though.
